2000 on a laptop wow..... thats just wow u can prolly get a really nice one for 600-1300 I dunno what the extra 700 will get you. 5) I dont understand why you would use dual monitors for a laptop.... I dont think it's possible unless u buy some kind of adapter that lets you do it. If you get a desktop then you can get dual monitors ez. | ||

2. In my opinion, if you could live without buying a laptop for right now... I would do that. Playing poker and doing homework can be done on any piece-of-shit machine right now, but I don't think anyone has a clue on what StarCraft 2 performance specs are going to be yet. Even if they have a good idea, you have to keep in mind that that might only be minimum specs, and not what it takes to run the game in full capability. And the good thing is, computers will just continue to get cheaper as you wait. 3/4. Just about anyone and their moma has an mp3 player/phone. They just don't know how to use it. From my experience, LG and Motorola make some really good phones (with the exception of the Chocolate and Razer). What I'm using right now is a V3M Razr (yeah, that's how I know it sucks) with a 2GB microSD. Depending on how many songs you're going to put in it and the quality of the songs, you can fit quite a bit on 2GB. Ultimately, it's difficult to give recommendations for a phone/mp3 player because there's so many more things to consider, at least in my opinion. Other things you might want to look at: Camera megapixel, Broadband capability, internet, PTT, loudspeaker, etc. You might think some of these would obviously be on a phone, but many times, phones will have a thousand lavish features, but will omit that one important simple feature. 5. Monitors are monitors. If you plan to use this with your laptop, and the laptop of your choice has a good screen, just get a crappy one. That way you can use that to play poker while you do other things on your laptop screen. | ||

2) With a 2000 budget you can get something top end. I'd recommend looking at sager (http://www.sagernotebook.com/product_customed.php?pid=10641&action=customize) The longer you wait the better stuff you'll get for the lowest price. 3/4) Personally i'd recommend getting them seperate. As for the mp3 player: how much storage do you need, and do you plan on using it for video/music or just music. For phone, who is your service provider or do you nto have one? 5) No clue | ||

Speakers for your computer or a real hi-fi system? Laptop: Just get a dell or a hp. They are fine. Make sure it har dualcore, preferably intel. I'd try to find one with a 17' monitor. Mp3 Player: Creative are my favorite. Sansas are excellent. You can't deny the quality and user-friendlyness of the classic iPod. I would own one if itunes didnt suck to high heavens. Phone: I'm a Samsung fan, but imho HTC is the best windows mobile phone and has tons of great features including a real keyboard on the later models. Sony Ericksons are famous for their good mp3 phones, and they have great cameras. I would get one if the Samsungs werent so pretty and if I ever used my phone for stuff like that. Monitors: The latest LG 22's are excellent, affordable and fast. Among the best monitors for your money these days. I have one and love it. | ||

I'm thinking of either getting a Prada phone or succumbing to the iPhone. I really like the two in one MP3 player / Phone thing they have going. My friend can get 15% off Dell products so I might just get a Dell laptop? Can I have a link to the monitors you mentioned TKWL. Thanks. | ||

Again, its really more practical to get them seperately. I'd go with a creative mp3 player. I currently have the zen vision m and love it. Depends what you're looking for in an mp3 player though (size, capacity, flash/hard drive, movies, etc) As for the laptop, dell is pretty good price wise and even better w/ 15% off, just make sure you get all the specs you want. Make sure you have 2gb ram, intel dual core, and a vid card. | ||
