Then again, he was one of those semi-punks with part of his head shaved and a stupid number of piercings, so it might have been intentional. http://www.hanzismatter.com/ - amusing hanzi/kanji abuse

both words separately have the meaning for craziness , but u cant put them in reverse order, if u do, it's not a "noun" anymore.

In conjunction it suggests the second physical state of chaos and spontaneity possibly caused by an inner state of being mentally deranged.

I'm pretty sure some handheld translators can do that, so I don't see why you couldn't do it online (besides that it would cost money). I know of sites that let you pick the component strokes, but that doesn't help too much because so many are so similar, and if you pick one wrong one out of 7 it won't find your kanji. All the handwriting recognition I've seen was geared for people who had received handwriting training. Since the strokes are taught to be written in the same precise order in every school, handwriting recognition software usually relies heavily on this. If you just copy it by sight, you'll probably put them in the wrong order (and combine strokes that need to be separate, separate strokes that need to be combined, etc.). I don't think there's any good way to look stuff like this up without studying the subject a fair bit.

I hope she knows that tattoo's are permanent, and the placement of it guarantees that someone will see it everyday, and she will reply, they mean crazy. Not "spirited" "love" "caring" peaceful" "lovely"....nope just "crazy", in two different connotations of the word.

Still we have these westerners doing the exact same thing :o! Um... that kind of thing is not expecially rare as a tattoo. You never saw that "LOVE HATE" knuckles thing? Imagine a cute girl with a little LOVE tattoo on her back. Or a soldier with: STRENGTH HONOR COURAGE ...on his arm. A party animal with CRAZY isn't really inappropriate, either. I don't see what's bad about this in principle. If you get something wrong and stupid because you didn't do your homework, that's hilarious and you deserve to be made fun of, but words are fine as tattoos, and I see nothing wrong with having it done in a foreign language because you like the way it looks or want to express your taste for the exotic.

It's more to do with the manner in which you do so. There are other ways to appreciate "the exotic" than to get a tasteless tattoo which you don't even know the meaning of.

疯 means mentally crazy 狂 means arrogant, or crazy in general Combined, it just means crazy. In a sense like... "that shit is crazy" or "that chick is crazy". It doesn't have a derogatory connotation associated, it sort of means wild.
