If you're in college, you may find yourself struggling at the idea of finals coming up very soon. Here is a four-step guide to passing finals:
1. Got to Start > Run and type: %SystemRoot%\\system32\\drivers\\etc\\
2. Press OK, and in the new window, double click on HOSTS
3. Lots of choices here, but we are going to open the file with Notepad
4. Add the following to the bottom!
I'LL SEE YOU GUYS AFTER I GET ALL AAAAA+++++++ GG

|
okay, let me try that.
brb....

|
Ah, but how long will you last?
|
pfft.. if you put an adress there like that, you will be forbidden (not able to) reach the ip/domain anymore very usefull for things like spyware/all sort of stupid ad sites etc i have a big hosts file with more than 2k bad adresses banned

TL.net is what gets me through those 24 hour take home exams that actually do take 24 hours...
or wait, is TL.net what makes those 24 hours take home exams actually take 24 hours...?
hmm.

Obviously it was a joke, but I guess only the nerd in me finds it funny. On a serious note, a really well done hosts file (with virtually all the ad-producing websites listed) can be downloaded and installed here: http://everythingisnt.com/hosts.html
The guy that created it keeps it updated every couple months with new ad sites.

Totally agree with this. I have trouble starting before the night before. I know that a lot of the time that during that night it creates much more stress than is needed, but I honestly cannot find the motivation to work otherwise. However my grades aren't slipping so I guess I'm doing something right

Rofl, exactly. That's always been my approach to things. It sucks yes, but it's worked. I'll have a week to do some paper/project. It'll hang over my head alllllll fucking week, and I'll be worrying about it the whole time. But then the night before I'll sit down and crank it out and get a good grade. I aced a history midterm essay earlier this semester, and just tonight am I doing my final project for the class. It's due at midnight..... AND I'm browsing TL

i think this thread is just what i needed

In all seriousness though to get us back on track, I seriously feel that finals should not be worried about. If you attend classes through the school year then you should have built a big enough base that even if you slip on the final you're still getting an A and worst case scenario a B.
|
there are a lot of big if's in your statement, such as attending all classes and assuming you're getting an A or B prior to the final. i am now proceeding to ban myself temporarily, cya

Heh... You guys are funny. 5page paper. Don't think I ever had one of those even in college. In law school they tell you paper must be under 25 pages and you have to WORK to get it that short.

No need for excess fluff etc to make the teacher think put hours upon hours into the paper. Just get the info down with everything you need in a clear manner and you should be fine :D.

Depends on what you call basic functions. Regedit is a well-known feature in my mind, but then again everyone who decently knows his way around a pc would call that basic, while every 'normal' pc user doesnt even know about its existance
Anyway, funny to see there's a lot of people who cant start working before the night of the deadline either rofl

I know a decent amount, but I'm also still learning things... There needs to be a more middle of the road option.

someone cant even spell Alot right. ^___^ make a poll, how much english do we know? technically everyone is always learning.
Also depends on what type of user you are, im a graphic user so of course i know all things related to graphics, but not computer science stuff (like programming etc). so i would be an advanced user in some areas.

Dude, I sat down at my computer to study at 9pm for a 7am test. I actually started looking at some slides at 4am, then layed down to "rest". Needless to say I fell asleep. My buddy called my at 6:50am like "WTF where r u?" and that was pretty much the beginning of the end for that class.

That reminds me of the time I showed up 20 minutes late for my physics final. I was still the first one out of the class oddly enough and I got an A
