Now if you gave them your real name (not smart) and they have the fake I.D. it is in their hands - they can report it; in fact by law they have too but it is a hassle for them. | ||

Due the to skyrocketing crime rate, need to safeguard America from potential terrorist attacks, and the disintegration of family values in California, fake ids now fall under the new "one strike" law. Penalty for carrying, using, procuring, creating, or thinking about any of the above now has a mandated minimum term of life. + Show Spoiler + Don't know anyone who's ever been caught - quick web search says max 250 fine & around 40 hours community service. However, the fact that he didn't call the police might make the whole arrest thing unreasonable - he might just have been trying to scare you. But I don't actually have a clue what will happen - good luck. | ||

Actually you'd be surprised what they can find out (if they want to) with only your picture. I work as a supervisor at a localish supermarket, part of a nationwide chain of supermarkets and department stores. Based originally on a single photo of a person we end up catching (in one case over the course of 2 years) them by having staff keep a look out for people on a list of photos that we have, and then get information such as a physical description, what car they get into when they leave the store, what direction they leave the store. However, the upside for the OP is that we only do this kind of thing for stuff like credit card fraud. EDIT: To clarify, photos are sent to every store in the chain. | ||
