I know everyone has seen these. They look really fun and challenging to make. Not to mention the finished product is cool as hell. Does anyone have any experience with making one? I was looking around on Google and I couldn't find that much information or directions on making them.
I was planning on making a Bi-plane (or something cooler if I can find it.) of Guinness Cans. These instructions are for regular 12 oz. cans and Guinness cans are larger - 14.5 oz.
Maybe afterwords I will try to make a Battlecruiser or something Starcraft related out of cans.
All I found was this:
Vague Directions
Some Pics And This and some guy selling directions on Ebay (lame.) short E-how TIPS
Another Vague Guide
So if anyone has any experience with making a model out of cans or directions on making one please contribute.
PS - If you can post pics of some you have made or some cool ones you found on the net.

Yea, I have most of the tools listed on the vague directions list. But like I said they are pretty vague and for blueprints there isn't much pictures or dimensions for some things.

I've seen hats made from beer cans, I like them because they say a lot about you if you wear them out in public.

Maybe we all can if we can get some diagrams and instructions to share. Maybe even a contest after we're done.

Yea, I like the first one (guinness !) and the 3rd one is that a bomber? Triplane is way sicker than a biplane too.

wow, that sr22 is bad ass i've never heard of this, seems cool though

i probably have a better chance of posting about how i needed to go to the hospital friday when drunk trying to do this than posting a completed airplane.

woa shit that is really badass
imagine going into a bar and grabbing some empty beer cans and whooping this shit up on the spot. you be elbow deep in chicks before you even know it =D

Lol , Joe you cut your hands open?
And Pyro I don't think you could 'whip' one of these up. its like building any model it takes a few hours at least.
|
Bump, I still have the cans in a box saved away for this project that I never found proper instructions for. Anyone help me out?
|
why not use your imagination and start cutting away. It seems as it won't be to hard to do. Start off by trying and copying someone's art and learn from there. One time in boy scouts we made a boat out of cans(play boat not something we could ride) and attached a battery driven propeller to it. Sad thing Is i don't have pics but it was constructed between four to five 11-13 year olds. Hot glue and some good pair of scissors should get you far.

You saved beer cans for this long? Drink more beer~
They do look awesome though.
Edit: edited wrong post~

I'm not sure how you'd make it (other than looking at the images and deductively figuring out how to assemble it), but when my aunt and uncle went to Vietnam, they picked up a lot of beer can and pop can recycle art. I think it's quite an industry there. I have a few models myself; they got stuff like a VW bug, a fighter jet, a pirate ship, a helicopter, bicycle, motorcycle, etc.

saved a bunch of guinness tall cans and packed them in a box with some other modeling stuff.
If I can get a book or some online guide on how to make them that would be awesome. I would scan and make a torrent . After I make a few regular planes/vehicles then I would try and make a BC or something and get directions for that to share.

Don't they make this stuff in africa where they don't have food and such?

this is as creative i can ever get- making small cans out of normal sized cans:
They feel really nice to hold in hand- like (almost) no sharp edges, more robust and perfectly fits hand.
I made those while watching some old vods on the tinternet.

they already stole my idea?! damn I made the first one like a week ago... damn they're fast...
is that supposed to be a new solution to the problem that the diet sodas taste like crap? with this they have like 50% less sugar with the same taste (not to mention that it is not only 50% sugar but also 50% less content)

If you made that first one a week ago you may as well say that you copied it from them. I have seen those mini cans around for years now.

I drink 16oz energy drinks alot at work. There is a guy there who makes these kinds of planes and he absolutely drools over the empty cans.... evidently he can make a big body section better with the 16oz cans over the 12 oz ones... its pretty funny but if he is making stuff like this then I need to see it!
Edit: spelling
