Pretty much all of human society will disagree with you. You can be polite and still be an expressive individual. Most people manage this. But what people are talking about isn't being called names in a video games. This is harassment. Finding peoples phone numbers and facebook accounts. Spamming their twitter account with pornographic images. Calling their parent's house because they found the number. Women not signing up for public, live tournaments because they are harassed in person. I had a friend who is a MtG judge get harassed by a bunch of ass clowns at Pax East because she was the only women judge working that day and they didn't like being told where to sit by a girl(in an tournament with assigned seating).
