I really don't think China would object with overmuch vehemence if North Korea did something really dumb and the U.S and South Korea decided to put an end to this nonsense.

Is what makes the video more than just "propaganda" that to me, is a direct threat? Is it not? Even if to most people it is laughable, this is the biggest opportunity along with all these missile launch tests, of a chance to go into North Korea and get rid of its dictatorship and save the North Koreans from all their problems of no food or water.

There's a reason it's not as easy as just rushing in and destroying them. It's not even a question as to whether or not we can. But because so much of SK would be destroyed, including seoul, you gotta wonder if it would be worth it?

I see your point of lots of destruction would lead as the North Korean army isn't exactly small, but im sure it could be done, and the ends would justify the means. Espescially considering the damage one of the nukes could do if it lands/goes off. Not saying that if they launched it right now that American wouldn't quite easily swat it out of the sky somewhere over the Atlantic, BUT if for some reason something failed in the USA defense system and a nuke would land somewhere in America, that devastation would be so huge. The only problem i see is it North Korea launch one of their Nukes at South Korea in a last ditch attempt when they realize they cannot win vs the world. That would be pretty hard to stop as the distance would be to hard to cover. Anyway, all in the early stages of development ^_^ i just don't like the way North Korea keep flexing muscles without being swatted down, and like many people know in this thread who keep involved with North Korea and it's military actions. Is that the Chinese don't even want anything to do with them lately and would not stop any action against them, so when you know China will not get involved you should not have any problem in planning anything. Only thing i would hate, is if any of our beloved Korean gamers had to be drafted into the war ![]()

If anything, China will step in to calm or ameliorate any potential for wide-spread conflict. While they may be allies with NK, they have far more vested interest in keeping the region peaceful and open for business.

Are you sure? Don't they have a massive amount of artillery aimed at Seoul, the heart of south korea, at any given moment? From what I've heard, the amount of weapons aimed at seoul is so immense that supposedly it would be decimated in the beginning of any real conflict. Just losing seoul, in itself, would be a huge hit for korea

You think the leaders of North Korea would be above launching nukes at the South if any one tries to invade? That is their one and only ace in the hole. They know that unless they actually attack some one the threat of them nuking South Korea will keep other countries at bay. They know they would be fucked if the US actually decided to invade and I'm fairly certain they hold no regard for the possible harm to their citizens of launching nukes that close to home. So I can see the US just ignoring this completely, they won't risk invading until it's absolutely necessary. This laughable video is far from worrying to the US. I'm by no means a political expert so I could be way off here but that's just my thoughts on the situation really

Just losing seoul, in itself, would be a huge hit for korea I won't say you are wrong, but this does sound a lot like typical North Korea propaganda to me. And one thing to keep in mind, the U.S backed SK army would have complete air dominance, they could wipe out pretty much any installation that isn't buried underground with complete impunity. Pin point strikes could destroy any artillery dugout before anyone knew what was happening. The conventional army of NK is horribly outdated, their nuclear arsenal really is the only plausible option for retaliation.

There has to be a better way. I would imagine it's very possible with our current technology and training to remove the dictatorship without much harm done. As others have mentioned the only major concern would be if NK launched a nuke at SK out of hate because they know they're going down. But I'm confident we could anticipate that and prevent it. I would seriously consider taking out that dictatorship. It's literally good for nothing.

IMO, best thing we could do is convince China to open up their side of the border to NK migrants instead of, say, deporting them back to North Korea to be shot. Well, nearly 40% of NK's population serves in the military in some respect, so the situation, while dire, is not as bad as that makes it sound.
