Does the Ryan choir-boy death stare into the camera while recited a canned response work for you?
Honest question. For me personally, it's comes off as insincere. He needs to break his gaze every once in a while.
It was the right move. Anyone who knows anything about persuasive speaking will tell you such.
I don't know man. Media analysts say time and time again that American audiences have a keen bullshit detector. That closing statement is exactly the kind of thing that makes it go blaring.
the bullshit detector goes off on the liberal side, however the persuasive and sincerity is appreciated by the conservatives (works both ways)
????
If anything I would think conservatives would have a much finer bullshit detector. They don't seem to trust anyone in government.
Oh, and in case anyone missed it, Biden managed to make another contradictory statement on Libya tonight. I really think that this Libya story is going to become a more dominant and damaging story over the next week or so.

As for the remaining debates, I'm not sure that they really are going to matter. The first one was always going to be most important because it was going to be the public's first unadulterated view of Romney. Whatever impressions have been made probably won't change unless Romney really does poorly.
So true. This doesn't change the fact the race is pretty much dead even. Obama still would have to knock it out of the park to win. And the format of the last two debates don't actually facilitate that well.
obama is winning right now...... the RCP state map shows him winning 294 to 244. Romney needs to come out and hit the big one again to win
But many of the states like Michigan, Wisconsin etc are now in play again when it was relatively safe leaning Obama just a few weeks ago.

Exactly. Looking someone in the eye when talking to them is persuasive. But in theatre or television, looking directing into a camera or facing an audience directly is breaking the fourth wall. You change the tone so dramatically -- one second you're having a lively discussion in an auditorium, the next second you're having a fake conversation with an imaginary person watching TV. It's feels disingenuous.

They trust anyone who doesn't trust government, regardless if that person is a bag of lies dressed as a politician, the embodiment of their distrust. Interesting how that works, right!?

while they are in play, they are still going obama. Romney still needs to come out with it to bring the states to his side
It's funny to me how everyone is upset about Biden interrupting Ryan, but were okay with Romney trying to get the last word when the weak ass moderator had tried to move on to the next subject. Complete bullshit.

Ugh, agreed. I've blocked people from my facebook because of the stupidity regarding this.

What Romney did is not even remotely comparable to what Biden did.

Your right, it is worse. Getting the last word is the biggest part of any debate and romney made sure he got it every time.

Difference between repeatedly laughing, talking over, and interrupting someone and waiting until the person is done and trying to get the moderator to let you speak again.

Oh please. It's just easier for you to deal with Romney's blatant bullshit because he's fighting for your ideals. Oh Biden, you sure played politics half as dirty as Romney .

their Bullshit detector is just as bad.
I think people like Hannity and Limbaugh have done a lot of damage to Conservative's bullshit detectors. Just because their suspicious doesn't mean they should be. (The BLS and Jack Welch spring to mind)

it was a different style of debate. they were at the same table, more personal with each other, not both having their own podium
it's also hilarious how romney got away with lying so god damn much, but no one seems to care
