I appreciate xDaunt for not being on a high horse when posting in this thread. His updating of the thread was indeed fantastic, and you could argue that the moderator note set him apart as kind of a moderator for this thread. However, I don't particularly feel the need to be guilt-tripped for initially thinking GZ was guilty back when the other thread was posted. I'd rather thank the informative people in this thread for helping me learn a lot, so this type of remark stings.

If you live in the hood, you NEVER talk because your family can easily get touched. If you are living in the suburbs......most likely will get better responses.

Race relations are fucked up because the media keeps making EVERYTHING about race. this pretty much hits the nail on the head. So tired of hearing about race every fucking day. The worst part is you get people who just parrot what they see on tv knowing literally nothing then when you say anything elsewise, obviously, you are racist.

Also ranted about how he'll be found guilty in civil trial. How can NBC have one of their own show hosts talking like this on live television...

To me if one person is alive and the other is dead, then there is a strong case for manslaughter. Just by the fact the other person is dead. I watched the trial and there was reasonable doubt everywhere. And therefore, not guilty was the only outcome.

And wrongful death is a lot easier to obtain than a guilty verdict, regardless of self defense laws and lack of direct witnesses. Edited to add: As explained to me by a police officer (and I live in Florida) during a class in college, before Stand Your Ground was even floated - "The thing I should see if you are going to state self defense is only front entry wounds, and you doing CPR on the corpse when I arrive on the scene." According to O'Mara, Stand Your Ground eliminates civil proceedings before they get started.
