and most if not all people unbutton or take off their outerwear when sitting down. same thing applies to jackets or blazers. clothes are not cut to fit a sitting figure.

Also lol at the idea that most people unbutton or take off their coats when sitting down. I can tell you with 100% certaincy that 99% of commuters do not take off or unbutton their coats when sitting down. Sitting in front of your computer at home or out eating, of course you take it off, but when commuting? Certainly not.

even tastosis knows this wtf anyhow i don't understand what's wrong with bending his elbow in that coat, it's not like it's made of cardboard and completely inflexible. it doesn't look like it's constrictingly tight either, if anything the sleeve length looks a bit short but I'm pretty sure that's intentional as it's meant to be worn over a suit. ps you should definitely not be bending your shoulder, and if you are, please consult your physician!! oh i just realized you were talking about the arm socket lmao either way i don't think there's much of a problem

also if the coat is baggy enough, you probably won't feel the need to unbutton it

Well, everyone unbuttons or takes off their suit jacket/blazer when they sit, right? The only reason you wouldn't do it with a topcoat is like andy said, it's hassle.

But looking at the pics, perhaps I am wrong. Maybe he does have freakishly long stick arms. Anyways that's the thing I am saying. it looks rather small/tight on him, but it might just be his arms. Can't tell unless he posts the full length.

My asking whether if he can sit if it was buttoned up is seperate from the rumple. Can you not follow chronological order, or did you simpy miss the posts? Catzandhatz has already replied that it is from the way it was folded up when it has arrived and I have replied as above. I think it is too small. Perhaps it is, perhaps it isn't. That's for catzandhatz to ultimately decide for himself; I'm of the opinion it looks short at the top and tight at the bottom. Could be that the coat waist is too high as well, but you can't really tell from those pics. Can't really tell for the bottom because like I have said several times, he hasn't posted the coat fully. Who knows. Maybe it has a vent or two at the back rendering the whole supposition pointless. Heavens. Why are you all reacting like I had asked for a down filled coat without it looking quilted or what to do if it's raining? (Cough cough I'm sure you don't want me to mention names zulu.) Seriously, it's as wierd as Greggy's insistence that people unbutton or take off their jacket whenever they sit. Like really? When you are out for a meal or drink of course. Good luck doing that in the cold or in a crowded place. But yeah sure, feel free to continue to insist that the entire professional class of the square mile simply don't exist.

it's on this page: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/general/306479-mens-fashion-thread?page=274 please find where anyone mentioned quilted the two quotes before that suggest you legitimately thought the rumples on his coat mean he couldn't sit down with the coat buttoned, then tried to deny it.

Due to my build nothing will ever fit perfect off the rack. I'm 6'2" 155lbs with slim athletic build, 28" waist, 33" inseam, 39" chest, and a +4 ape index. If the shoulders and chest fit then the sleeves will be slightly (1/4" to 1/2") short and the waist slightly too big. If the sleeves are the right length then everything else is too big. If the waist fits the chest and shoulders are too tight. I chose to have the shoulders and chest fit well and deal with the slightly short sleeves and slightly loose waist. I do unbutton my coat whenever I sit, which isn't very frequent. I'm either walking to/from the subway, and then standing on the subway, or I'm walking somewhere and take my coat off when I arrive. After I get it back from the cleaners I'll post a couple pictures detailing the fit. If you look at the pictures of myself that I've posted in this thread you can see how ridiculously skinny I am. If you know of a brand that makes waists too narrow for me I'd love to know.
