what's there to wear in the summer besides t-shirt? I just have a bunch of plain long tees with U shaped or crew necks and that's it.
I've had a grailed experience where the measured p2p was like 2" wider than what was posted and there was no way someone could fuck up measuring so I have no idea how that kid did it, it was fine otherwise but he sold it as nwt when it was probably worn a couple times.
also should I get this thing? http://www.styleforum.net/t/398185/nwt-label-under-construction-barcode-longsleeve-knit-sz-l Hopefully when price drops, it looks w/e but I like the details and I wanna see if I like the brand.

Anyone know where I can find some casual business attire for cheap ?

ive been thinking about linen knits recently. i usually wear linen shirts, airism, or cotton Ts in the summer. i guess if you wanted to get fancy you can find something in tropical wool

Today I learned you can soak unsanforized denim more than once to get the right shrinkage.

luc shirt reminds me of pinstripes and pinstripes are not my cup of tea but whatever, luc is a great label and fabric is always top notch. if you're fine with vertical stripes then go for it.
for summer weather i just wear tees/henleys. don't really wear tanks because I feel like they're lounge clothes, and polos/pocket tees/etc are not my thing either.

Nothing wrong with well-done basics imo. Can't really experiment that much when its 85+ out. +1 for Linen fabrics.

I copped the BoO hoodie. I liked that one the most out of all the options I saw. Next one I get will probably be between w+h or john and eliott.

dont know any shoes under $150 that are really "worth" it. i always plug cole haan.
also dont know any sport coats at $150. you can get some cheap blazers probably.
that's pretty much open range for shirts though. brooks brothers, most MTM companies, and some more fashiony brands (BoO, APC, Margiela, etc) can be found for that range.
Depending on the kind of pants you want, i've seen stuff like incotex. dont really know much about trousers.
there's a list of webstores in the OP (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0Ag1IwlPgSJr2dENCaE5LN05jLTRyMC1HMnRocHlZeWc&output=html)
anything in the "moderate" range is probably good for what you're looking for in terms of pants and shirting. here's a few recommendations so you dont have to filter through more designer focused/streetwear/etc stuff
http://epauletnewyork.com/ http://www.yoox.com/us/men#/dept=clothingmen&gender=U&page=1&attributes={'ctgr':[%27pntlncls%27]}&season=X (remember 20% off) http://unionmadegoods.com/product-category/pants/ (this one has a lot of chinos, not so much dress pants)
i dunno. any of those sites will have shirting for you. good luck on sports coats (look through yoox). not any really good shoes at that point, worth saving up to the $300-400 range. pants, i dont know much about but you can always post about some brands you dont really know anything about here and we can give you a rundown.
on the low end, also
http://www.uniqlo.com/us/
pmuch it. COS, if you're willing to ship from europe
oh and take a look at http://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice
they're pretty business casual as a whole in terms of hivemind/groupthink. lots of good reading there.

also post your spreadsheets and kop lists for the rest of the year go

omg more reason for me to spam
dream cop list is: - stephan schneider merino coat - ss knits - viberg service boots brown or dark brown don't care what leather - cp achilles mid grey - yuketen maine guide or osb hunting boots (not sure about these) - EG batik baker - plain silent tees - some kind of black denim - oaknyc shorts (not sure) - maybe some viridi-anne, soloist, numbernine, luc stuff whatever I can find just to see if it's really worth everyone fawning over.
probably will only get the black denim, tees and second hand ss knits, will definitely get the merino if it's available and i can afford. Gave up on wanting leather jacket cuz I don't like the look. I feel like I've made fortunate choices thus far while knowing very little. The EG stuff I got are pretty versatile, whatever patterned shirts I have are mostly okay and can go with cleaner stuff, the only thing I regret is that EG brookline floral jacket. Don't wanna go full workwear, also don't wanna go full "minimalist" boxy silhouette w/e cuz it'd make me look like a yuppie urbanite. By the same reasoning, no black boots. Just gonna rotate pbj/black denim and some linen uniqlo pants with mostly sneakers, then plain tees or ss/plain-ish knits.
I really don't get ervell, none of his stuff appeals to me, but I find SS outerwear and knits very attractive and wearable. Generally prefer japanese over european. Pls critique my list.

i think ill be hunting an ss knit this fall too. what size are you? If i dont do SS, ill get a stark. one or the other for sure though, i need it for when it gets cold.
considering some of your eg stuff i like the cohesiveness. seems to be going in a very particular direction, cept for maybe some of the black/silent/oak/n(n) etc stuff that youre probs just trying out.
im only giving myself 1k to spend, but ill probably go less than that tbh because im spending a bunch of money this summer (aka i wont be online much in july cept for my phone at night)
right now i have about $50 of uniqlo, giving me about $700 on the year to play with (i already bought stuff lol)
so im thinking:
- side zips (if i can find mmm, cheap varvatos maybe, otherwise ill go with buttero) - ss/sns knit - some winter pants i can wear boots with
ill juts hope side zips work out in the snow so i can keep my rotation low. i have beater winter boots though so i probably wont buy the diemmes i wanted, unless i get them really cheap.
|
I see sns mentioned a lot but idk, i think ss textures are way cooler. I'm either 5/6, sometimes 7 in ss, true large in most cases but M in uniqlo.
the ninja stuff is just cuz I like how it fits long/slender people and I see the appeal in black/whites. I can't wear regular length tees again except as undershirts after buying AA.
I have bean boots too and they are great for real snow but yea, I don't think they're as ugly as people make them out to be but the color is just awkward. I'm considering those hunting boots for winter but don't like them that much. The buttero/ccp/cd w/e side zips seem like they'd get ruined by a real winter.

does ss make a thick cardigan/jacket like the stark though? i want something super warm that i can wear instead of a coat for around ~25-40 degrees
yeah if it gets under 20 degrees, or its snows more than lightly i rapidly stop caring about how i look and try to stay warm. so bean boots and my beater timbs for those situations.
i think im starting to realize/accept the limitations of the small wardrobe i want, vs the needs i have living in a state with actual seasons. at least its a good reason to buy clothes
|
about stark, not sure, i think the closest is the thing i got which is the moth cardigan, there' a version without the hood
|
i think what'll likely happen is ill get a schneider pullover + a stark lol. if i can find a used stark ill have enough for both. dunno about materials for ss though. so many options

I never really plan what I'm going to get next maybe just
- more ocbds - chinos in red and olive - new dress socks - basketball shoes (old one broke and I hate that I have to replace them) - buy more Japanese stuff if I go there this year - a bunch of ties and pocket squares
