Shin Ramen - I usually put in the noodles just before the water is completely boiling. I also like to add eggs.
Neoguri - I cook these noodles a lot longer. I don't add eggs when cooking Neoguri, but I usually add cooked rice into the soup after I finish the noodles.
I forgot what brand it was, but a friend of mine used to open the ramen package, dump the hot spices onto the noodles while they were still in the package and then break up the ramen into smaller pieces. We would then eat the ramen like that as if it was a cracker. I know some Korean company came out with 'Bushya bushya' afterwards, which is the same thing, but we used to do this back in the early 90's.
Sseng ramen basically. You can do it with any ramen but results vary depending on the brand. I find the shin ramen is best for eating raw. Neoguri is the worst for this, but its amazing when u cook it

I could go for a nice bowl of ramen right about now... I'm going to go crazy, become sick of it, gain weight, forget how to cook, then have to eat it because if I don't, I'll starve to death. Anyways, anyone mind PMing me the best brands? I'm not talking about cheap, and get lots (Cup Noodles). I'm speaking of the good ramen, that tastes great, and relatively inexpensive.
EDIT: I'm coming from a land where I would rarely eat packaged food, so I'm a complete noob past bagged chips. EDIT2: Actually... last time I had it was when I returned to Taiwan... good times .

Whoa, if you spend time preparing ramen aren't you betraying the fundament princepla behind ramen.

Miso ramen ftw!
@ So no fek - well it depends on the specific recipe, but usually you don't cook the egg before-hand.

Yeah, but if you eat it more than once a week/you eat it for dinner as opposed to a snack it is good to put a little more effort into it and make it taste better & be more nutritious for you.

I don't. :O I toss it in during the last minute of cooking, usually.

my typical ramen meal is one shin ramyun with 3/4 spice pack, 1/2 vegetable pack, 1 finely chopped habanero, and 1 egg after turning the heat off. i love extremely spicy food, so if anyone knows another spicy ramen besides shin, post it here.

- 2 Packages of regular Pork Ramen
- 10 slices of bacon; sliced to bite sized pieces
- 2 raw eggs, whipped
- 2 thick green onions, sliced thin
- Couple of dashes of Mushroom Soy Sauce
Sounds good. 10 SLICES OF BACON AND 2 EGGS?!?! Jesus thats too much. heart atck here i come~
also NVR cook ramen to look like the picture in front of the packet... they taste HORRIBLE!
in my case, for one serving, i add 1 egg, couple of drops of sesame oil, rice cakes (call dukk), and sometimes some leek sliced in
egg is best put in raw while boiling... and then don't over cooking it let it cook just enough to give it consistency but not be 100% solid
alsoo i forgot to mention that I put in the dry veggie packet wayy b4 everything else while the water is just starting to boil (not even fully boiling) and then let the water start boiling once again (I do this so the dried up stuff is 100% no longer dry)

General consensus of Team Liquid seems to be Shin Ramyun = best, but I prefer Sapporo Ichiban. I don't care for the noodles of Shin Ramyun, but the spice/vegetable packets it comes with are good. As for the egg, I generally put mine in with a minute left on the timer. By the time the minute is up, the egg will be cooked. As for what to do with the egg, you can either leave it whole, or mix it up in the soup to give a better broth. I do half/half, personally.
As a side note, I actually went to a ramen shop yesterday. Was so different than packaged ramen, and ended up being pretty good. Though the noodles were far from what I was expecting, but still delicious. The soup was very good, though.

i've eaten those two the most out of all ramen brands
shin ramen is great for eating by itself and sapporo is great for adding tons of extra shit.

I ususally use an egg. And a saucepan. Then after it's done I can put a cover on it after it's done, and eat just the ramen and egg. Sometimes when I have a cold or really feel like it, I'll drink the water. I've been doing that a lot recently.
