Saturday, May 28, 2005 NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A mother faces criminal charges after she hired a stripper to dance at her 16-year-old son's birthday party.
Anette Pharris, 34, has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and involving a minor in obscene acts. The boy's father, the stripper and two others also face charges.
"I tried to do something special for my son," Pharris said. "It didn't harm him."
About 10 people under the age of 18 were at the birthday party in September, including minors who were not related to the family, authorities said.
Police spokesman Don Aaron said minors are not permitted in adult establishments.
"A person shouldn't be allowed to circumvent that law by hiring a stripper, a lady who took all her clothes off and spent a good amount of time dancing around minors," he said.
Anette Pharris took photos at the party and tried to have them developed at a nearby drug store. Drug store employees notified authorities, police said.
"Who are they to tell me what I can and can't show to my own children?" the mother said.
If I asked my mom to hire a stripper for my birthday party, she'd say "yeah sure thing". I don't really see the big deal there. I didn't know that this type of this was illegal for minors... damn
34 minus 16 = 18, subtract another 9 months plus 1-2 give or take for the accident to occur and it`s really not too difficult to see what`s going on with the family. ; )

I don't understand at all... Elaborate plz
The mother is 34. The son is 16, so she had her son when she was around 17.

ROFLMAO wow this situation has become 10 times clearer for me

Is that legal
Legal, yes, so long as the incident occured legally... however, my understanding was like 99% of strippers don't allow pictures (or at least, their "pimps" don't).

Read a couple of posts above yours...it seems the person developing the photo's ratted them out.
Anyways, even if it was one of his friends, it probably would have been because he told his parents for some reaosn(shit happens) and they forced him to tell the police. That's how it works, right?

he was asking if its legal for people who develop them to use that information. i wonder that too.
Gah, I completely disagree with it being "okay" as long as it's only her son.
It's not okay to have sex with your teacher as long as your mother says its ok. The law is the law, and only in certain cases will parental consent change that; This is not one of those cases.
wtf if they were there its because they wanted to see it im sure none of them said "bleh she hired a stripper for us.. thats suck.. well im going to play starcraft because a lot of confusion will happen here soon"
im sure 100% of them knew the stripper was going to be there heheh, anyway that just sucks only in 1st world countries stupid people call the police to tell whats going on in the house

Edit: Oh, wait, no, it was a bit different. The mom stripped for the kids then.
WTF??
There was something like that. I remember reading it on TLnet.

But I once read that there is a custom that once you reach a certain age in Romania you get sent over to your female neighbour for your first sexual encounter. I honestly read something like that =].

THis statement I agree with, but the problem is, she didn't just show her to her own child, I think thats fine, but:
"About 10 people under the age of 18 were at the birthday party in September, including minors who were not related to the family, authorities said."
If she cleared it with their parents, then thats fine too, but I have a feeling that she didn't
Well the reason why this isnt tolerated is because of the classic phrase, "give em an inch, and they take a mile". If they become reasonable and say "ok chances are the kid has already seen pussy, possibly even had pussy, so obviously he cant be tainted by the rather tame dances of a stripper if hes already having sex, or watching porn". However once this precident is set, people will push the envelope even lower, and youll have 10 yr old, 6yr olds, watching strippers.

Dunno about you but watching a stripper wasn't at the top of my to-do list when I was 6.

Maybe she didnt even ask them, she just figured it'd be cool. My ex was a flake like this. She said when she became a mother she would throw keggers at her house all the time, to be a cool mom, and to keep the kids at home instead of out on the streets. Took everything in me not to slap her.

Man sucks to be that mom
One reason why people shouldn't put their ass in other people's business I got screwed over exactly like this before
Wow they fucked her life over for something that isnt a big deal. Those kids prolly see more everyday fucking their girlfriends and surfing porn, Jesus christ it shouldnt be a problem unless one of the boys complained and in which case they would be gay.

get ur facts right. they took pictures of this event and decided to get them developped. The people working at the pharmacy or whatever called the cops.

how were my facts wrong, who did i say got them in trouble? i didnt point out anyone in particular because we obviously know it was the people at the pharmacy
I think he thinks that you are blaiming one of the kids for complaining which got them busted. When you were really just saying IF someone complained, that is the only reason for charges to be levied. Those photo lab guys are pretty gay too. Unless theres more to the story, like there really were little kids standing around. I mean who says "wow check out this chicks tits.. man that guy sure likes it.. hey you know what, he looks like he could still be in high school.. lets ruin the day and call the cops to get someone arrested".
And while the mom is indeed an idiot, 2 years in jail? I mean that aint no easy time.

Brave New World anyone?
Anyway, i dont know about you guys, but i was like 7 or 8 when i saw my first porn vid, so its not like its some taboo area. Little kids know more and more and see more as each generation passes. Fuck, some places have lowered the legal age of consent to ages like 13 and 14. So its already becoming a much more open topic. They should slap her on the wrists for what she did only if the other parents of the kids didnt consent, but hey, it is the states.

While i aggree that most of us see this stuff at a far younger age, i've often wondered if our safety net stems more from the impending fear that "omg this is taboo, ive already seen it now, but in my mind its still taboo" vs "im 6 years old and i just saw a cumshot, this is normal for me now". The simple fact of fearing it might be enough to protect us from whatever we're protecting ourselves from. If nobody cared about this stuff at any age, i think we would definately react and think about it differently when we encountered it, and this might be for the worst.
Dude this happend at my highschool allso (washington state), but the mom allso bought the kid weed, and beer for all his friends, one of the kids who was at the party went back to there parents and rated her out and now she is in jail/
