Soju is very unclean alcohol, with high levels of --hydes, the worst being acetaldeyhyde. This is a byproduct of inferior alcohol production in which too much oxygen is introduced during fermentation. Also, it is a product of high temperatures during primary fermentation. It is also present in the major Korean rice beers, Cass, Hite, and OB. You can detect its presence by the slight green apple flavor. You say,"green apples in BEER!!?? WHAT!?!" Trust me its there, and very subtle on the pallet. Korean drinking culture almost champions the hangover from excessive of drinking these local alcohols. My first recommendation to you is to try HaeJeongGuk 해정국 There are many restaurants throughout Korea where you can find it as this is the national Hangover Soup. The name means 'Hangover away soup'. It is similar to Pho but is less expensive and a bit spicier. It does not have noodles, but instead comes with a bowl of rice to the side. It also has a big chunk of beef spine in it. Yummy!! My second recommendation is to stop drinking Soju and Korean rice beers. If you are looking for a great alternative i recommend Craftworks near Noksapyeong. They are a microbrew with reasonably priced Ales that have a lot of attention paid to their brewing process and thus are better beer in taste and chemical composition of alcohol products and byproducts. It is becoming more and more common to see imports in Korea, but as you know they are quite pricey. Craftworks brews their beer in Gapyeong, which is about an hour east of Seoul. They are afordable, local and delicious! http://craftworkstaphouse.com/ If you must drink Korean rice beer, there is a new 'formula' from OB. Look for the golden labeled bottles. This beer has the 'best' formula and brew process of all the Korean beers. It has the least 'green apple taste' and by my conclusion the least --hydes. OB is the oldest Korean brewery and is showing to be the most progressive in producing a product that could compete with other European and American corn and rice lagers. This is based on my own private 'tastings' ^o^ If you are looking to try some HaeJeongGuk or a delicious, cold pint at Craftworks, PM me. I would love to meet a TeamLiquid member for a beer and grub. This stands for anyone in Korea or with plans to visit. Mumu Edit: OOps my Korean isnt soo good!! HaeJangGuk 해장국 ^^ Is this why Soju is so cheap to buy? The best way to cure a hangover is to prevent it from happening of course! If I fail then I just sleep until it goes away which will require me to sleep for about 10 or more hours. Although I haven't tried any remedy food because I hate the feeling so much that I just sleep through it and with no problems so far.

Depending on how violently hung over you are, a strong cup of tea with sugar in can be perfect, or can make you chunder straight up. Same deal with the standard bacon sandwich. I really think leftover curry or an equivalent to the tikka wrap is the best hangover food you can find.

![]() ![]() But I I guess ideally I'd smoke some weed and order a pizza. trying to get back on the wagon, however. So I try not to wake up hangover any more, or drink a great deal for that matter.
