Well I can't tell you since it's chinese healtchare and translations. I dont know why youre asking us about cost too, unless a chinese user here that can help you lol. Also, usually chinese words are very difficult to translate to english.

those visits would be billed at around 80-100 per visit in the clinic if all they did was what he described, at least double (they will likely try to get more) if you go to an actual hospital (which you shouldnt for such basic procedures - if you go to hospital for initial evaluation they would tell you to go to a clinic for followup)
typical insurance would cover most of it

My guess is that neither of the two happens, unless something very clearly leads to this conclusion. If the loss of hearing is gradual and over a long period of time, which it usually is the human probably doesn't realize that it lost any hearing whatsoever. Because there is no day where they realize that they cannot hear something that they could hear yesterday, and it is very hard to compare your hearing ability of today with that of ten years ago. The human will only notice once other people tell him, or once it doesn't hear something which it clearly should have heard.

From my own experience with eyesight (or loss therof) this is very probable. In puberty my eyesight got worse and worse (heavy case of shortsighedness) and I was only really noticing it a year after it started to get gradually worse.

In the sense of manipulation rather than direct "control" I think the evidence is overwhelmingly supportive of that. But not in the "tin foil hat will literally protect me" sense if that makes sense?
