They're taking advantage of you. I had that happen to me at my old job and it only got worse until I put my foot down and stopped answering and refused to come in to cover for other people. Until you start saying no, it's only going to get worse. Let things fall apart. If the illusion things are going well continues, nothing will change. They have to see that what they are doing is not working. If 7 of 10 locations are failing then it's likely something much more fundamental that is wrong with the business, and likely nothing any of the actual customer-facing staff can control. Sadly, it seems that those up the corporate ladder often blame those below them rather than take responsibility.
That's one thing my current job has taught me: there is a lot of power in saying "no".
But seriously, I hope your situation gets better. I've had to deal with out of touch management like that before and it is incredibly frustrating. Heck, we're having to deal with that right now at my current job and my boss is just about at wit's end with how ridiculous some of the things upper management wants us to do are. They treat us as if we don't know what we're doing when we're one of the top performing places in the district and most of the time when they come in and "walk"/"inspect" us working, most of the stuff they tell us we either are already doing (because it's common sense, but the higher ups think they're geniuses for thinking of it) or are so wrong that we just ignore it the second they leave.

The guy already works 60-70 hours and if I cannot cover, then he is next on the list because everyone else is unreliable and talking from personal experience, when he starts working in the 65-80 hour range, he becomes really weird and difficult to work with. Once my head chef puts his foot down and leaves, I plan on doing the same thing.

I want to go back to college now, but the reason I dropped out in the first place was because I had no money so I am stuck with an exciting, but unreasonably stressful job with shitty pay, long hours, and no social life, no time for literature, or literature for probably the rest of my life. At least I still have my Twitch stream though :D

Anita and her followers have some legitimate grievances. There is some pretty vile sexism present in some gaming communities, and even if such people are a minority they are just as vocal as their "SJW" (I hesitate to use that term because it's too much of a catch-all generalization, but it works for now) counterparts and have a detrimental effect on their community. However, this is the sort of thing that's absolute bollocks and just needs to stop. Removing the element of choice by pushing for exclusively female protagonists as some kind of "reparations" for years of primarily male protagonists benefits no one and just makes her look whiny.

As the guy before me pointed out, the channel has some legitimate grievances, but some of them are not. Now, having dumb opinions is not too dangerous, but my concern and the reason why this angers me a little bit is that these types of opinions are becoming common place. You've brought up the notion of "trigger warnings" for instance which is a by product of this SJW culture that's now coddling people and protecting their feelings.
My point being, Anita Sarkeesian is a lot more than an internet nutcase. She's an internet nutcase with a voice, a loud, largely unreasonable voice. She got the humanitarian of the year award from Harvard or something, she is invited to a bunch of places to talk about her unscientific research. It is a concern when in my university, there are now trigger warnings in some settings, and the professors censor themselves to avoid hurting the feelings of students. One of my professors openly admitted that he was not going to touch upon some subjects because some of her colleagues got blackmailed for having said "triggering" things without warning.
Anita Sarkeesian, Feminist Frequency and these kinds of people have real political power. I don't think that it's unreasonable for me or other people to step up and say these kinds of ideas are in dire need of being refined and changed. This is someone who has political power and outright argues that games with male protagonists are abominations and that games with only a female protagonist are BETTER than games which allow to choose.
And the problem is that these insane grievances are given credibility by the fact that along the way she builds up her name bringing up certain actual problems and symptoms of a sexist society. We're left with a pretty schizophrenic SJW movement which has lost track of reality. I personally think it's sad.

The real drag comes in when their voice somehow gains clout within whatever community they're boring into, and people start taking it seriously. So, found out the marriage of my elder sister is breaking down. There are two kids, a husband that isolated her over the years (might it be knowingly or unknowingly), they dont get along very well, she would like to leave him but cant because of still studying, 2 kids and having burned most bridges yeah. on top of that, I found out he has beaten her on multiple occacions, and there is nothing I can do.
Situation isnt unfamiliar, but this time I cant just scare the fucker away/threaten him/beat the shit out of him/break his hand so he wont even thinking about coming near her. I couldnt do shit besides holding her, asking her how serious she is about leaving him, while at the same time realizing how impossible it is at the moment. She will need at least another year to finish university, her husband holds her back by leaving the kids mostly to her, which could mean she culd take even longer to finish. I will need 2 more years to finish, so there is nothing I can do during that time.
While seeming integrated, I had to realize hes not and apparently never was, treating my sister like he owns her, his family not really showing her respect etc.
My sister was just blind and later on kept quiet because of feeling ashamed and helpless. Awesome day.

No use. There is no way where she can leave him, keeping the children while also being able to continue with university. She already thought it through a lot. Divorce + custody battle are none of her acceptable options at the moment, which is the reason why I got so frustrated. Also the situations is difficult with her kids being very young, likeing their father a lot etc. When this whole thing goes down, I must be ashured that my sister and her childs have stability and security to deal with the wounds this causes(d). She will have to endure this shit until she finished her degree or I did and then we can take actions. It feels bad to say, but at the moment the whole situation seems to be on an acceptable level, taking into account what a solution would cost. Gotta keep acting like I dont want to tear this asshole to pieces.
I also feel like I should have realized this earlier, but now it is already going on for years, with my sister stuck in this situation.
