Note: a number of sources are saying that Beast Master Casey has been suspended for 4 days and that the rat boy was suspended for 21. Look around for more sources please. |
LOL i wish i cud have been there, i wud have done much worse to that kid in just a punch, he got up after the body slam,,walked around, i dont think all u guys realise that a punch can do just as much damage as a body slam, what if he punched him,,,,he wud have knocked the kid clean out...and he wud have fell and hit his head anyways.. just as much chance of broken neck,, I was once a little asshole, bit of a bully, karma caught up with me in the form of a broken leg from getting hit by a car while chasing sum1 i bullied. With any luck this kid will learn something from his experience and realise that he fully deserved what happened to him,, BTW i dont really think casey knew what he was doing till he alrdy had the other kid up in the air, and by walking away afterwards proves he just wanted to be left alone, id suspend that other little shit tbh

The kids are never to be blamed in a situation like this. You can't expect kids to be completely developed rational beings, especially not when most adults aren't. The main factors at fault here would be the school (Meaning all adults working in the schools vicinity) and the parents.of both children.

With great size, comes great responsibility. I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand your argument, you want him to beat the smaller kid up, wich he didn't, wich you think was too far? Or are you implying that several punches to the kids face, maybe a few kicks to the chest would have been better, and less harmful? I think a few punches in the face and chest wouldn't have hurt the kid at all, except his ego. A body slam on the floor, a few degrees off, could've broken the kids neck. So yeah, I think punching the smaller kid is a better option. Even a few kicks to the chest, would've definitely been a lot less harmful then throwing the kid upside down on the floor, pretty damn close to head first on the pavement. So you want that larger kid to stand there and take the hits just because he knows that he could hurt the smaller child? Yeah ok... That'll happen, I would have done the same thing... Actually I wouldn't have let it get to that point, those other kids have obviously been picking on Casey for a while. The fact that he got suspended is reasonable I suppose, any school has to take action when there are fights and that is standard. However, I would like to see the schools not punish the children that are being bullied just for a while, I guarantee that bullying would stop or at least slow down.
Punching and/or kicking is not just standing there and taking the hits.

this video shows that life is for the aggressive. If you dominate someone, you hold power over them. If they retaliate, they have to do so in a way that is not seen too excessive because they could face penalties. My opinion is if you do harm to someone, verbally or physically, you get everything you deserve in return. It doesn't matter if you're a kid or a girl, if you show disrespect to someone and they retaliate-even if they kill you-you deserve it.

If you punch someone in the face without provocation, in my book, you waive your right to not have your neck broken by concrete.
Good for that kid for not taking that crap.

With great size, comes great responsibility. I wonder if you have ever been bullied in your life. Doesn't seem like it. If you were bullied, you know that when you snap, well.. YOU SNAP!!! I used to be bullied by this big kid and once when he pushed me to the ground (while being in the ground) I went for his nuts. The kid cried non-stop and never bullied me again. Are you fucking serious? How can you compare nearly killing a kid for being punched by this pipsqueak? The fat kid took it too far, and would've gone to jail for it if the smaller kid got seriously hurt. The big kid should've punched/kicked the crap out of him, it would've been easily a KO because of his height/weight. The fat kid took it way too far, but I can't say I would feel bad for the smaller kid, neither of them did the right thing. He didn't nearly kill him. Please calm down. At worst he would have knocked him out or given him a concussion. When you are bullied, you need to shock the crowd to make it stop. Mediocre responses don't work.

body slamming another person like that is extremely, extremely dangerous. my mom used to handle discipline cases in los angeles and there was a case in which someone did exactly that to another kid and paralyzed him for life. being a punk and throwing punches to gain the approval of your peers makes you a rotten person, but doesn't deserve that response.

LOL! I think you just proved my point. It is quite clear that you were/are a bully. You feel sorry for the bully because he got owned by the bullied kid. Is that bullies #1 fear?
BTW, the kid would not have gone to jail if he had killed the guy who was bulling him. He did it in self defense and that gets him out of trouble with the law.
Tell me, a guy with a revolver shoots in the arm another guy for no reason. The wounded guy sees a shotgun, takes it and fires back, killing the guy who first shot him. Would you feel sorry for the guy who died instead of being wounded like he wounded the other guy or would you prise the actions of the guy who killed as an act of self defense?

Casey didn't go too far.
He didn't know what he was doing, it's not like he tried to drop the other kid on his head. He just reacted, was big enough and strong enough to pick him up, and tried to drop him in some manner that would hurt him and send a messge.
Good for him.
He just got punched in the face. A clean, straight punch right to his face. Then the stomach. Never mind the mocking going on while it was all happening. Can any of us imagine what his life dealing with those miserable little pricks has been like prior to this video?
That little shit got what was coming. The world needs more of that.

I still don't really think violence was the correct answer to a problem like this...
I think the punishment is reasonable and necessary.

What scares me the most in threads similar to this one is the replies. A large majority here are adults (or so I presume) yet many of you respond with such nonsense as "I woulda done XXX <-- (random act that would justifiably put them in jail)"
How can we expect children to act rationally and not bully others for whatever reason when obviously adults such as ourselves most of the time are equally stupid?

Exactly, that is why when i was bullied, I knew i had to go for something that would hurt him way more than he had hurt me, while at the same time incapacitating him so that I could escape unharmed ^^

That tiny kid was such a dumb ass. I would much rather he had more injuries. But seriously how the hell can he get suspended for something like that when theres witnesses and a recording of it clearly being provoked and the facebook group says he may even get criminal charges. How is that even possible?!
And surprisingly enough when people decided to pick on me for a reaction and I eventually gave a reaction like that. They would back off for a while and then straight back up again trying to make me "crack".

I'm absolutely disgusted by any sort of violence... usually.
I'm completely behind Casey here.
The problem is that mobbing is something that can't be effectively prevented.
The desire to be in a socially strong position is in every human being, and there are always going to be persons who try to amplify that sense by mobbing other people and in this way feeling powerful.
And there are a ton of issues preventing the effective institutional punishment of bullies. First of all, in most cases, simple shame (again, human nature, nothing bad about being too ashamed to go for help) keeps the victims from simply going to a teacher / parents and tell them what happened.
And even if the kid overcomes his shame, most of the time nothing really happens, as there is no effective way to prove the level of bullying that a bully has commited, and as such it's hard to punish a bully (especially since kids who get bullied only once by, lets say, getting their meal stolen are more likely to report it to authorities than long time-mobbing victims. You can't permanently suspend a little kid for doing something stupid that he might even immediately regret himself when coming home ).
There are other issues as well, such as the protective parents of the bully etc.
I believe mobbing is one case where violence in defense is very justified. The problem is that you usually can't even do that unless you're very enraged, since even most young kids realize that they will face punishment (getting suspended permanently etc.) if they try to defend themselves.
It's arguable that Casey went a little bit too far (But I still argue that's not the case), but even if he did - everyone here who accuses him of that doesn't even remotely realize the amount of rage you build up over a very, very long time of being mobbed. There's no rational thought going on in these moments - literally none (I've been in that situation). You literally can't control yourself, even if you're the nicest and most lovely person alive.
edit: The video doesn't work anymore, btw.

I don't think anyone thinks it's good for the chubby kid to pick up and slam the little scrappy kid (which some of u guys seem to think that because a kid is smaller their punches don't hurt which is incredibly ignorant and dumb).
the answer? yes, he was absolutely in the right to do that, it was self defense.
|
Only thing Casey did wrong is not try and walk away, and he might have done that before they started recording. As someone who was also bullied I say go Casey.

what are you the principal? what do you want him to do, take the punches and abuse then go tell his teacher or dad that some dude just bullied him?
lmao how some people can see the same situation so differently is mind boggling.

Rofl, not to be a jerk, but you're the one who needs to rewatch the video, he could've nearly killed him, the way he picked him up, and the way the kid landed, with different variables, easily could've resulted in the kid breaking his neck.
There are plenty of stories out there, one in particular a few months ago, this bride-to-be was having a pool party, for fun her friends push her in the pool without her knowledge. Bam she breaks her neck, in a wheelchair afterwards.
Those kinds of moves are dangerous, especially for kids.

Punishment? Like some little prick is going to stop when his parents tell him to "not to bully the fat kid, its wrong". Everyone knows how it ends when people just keeps bullying the one and someday, he'll just kill himself or go to school with a gun and you know the rest.
Seriously, schools doesn't give a shit about these situations, until its too late. Everyone knows that.
