Note: a number of sources are saying that Beast Master Casey has been suspended for 4 days and that the rat boy was suspended for 21. Look around for more sources please.

Complicated: my gut feeling tells me the little prick had it coming and cheers for the revenge of the nerd; on the other hand, ratio dictates that you cannot tolerate violence (especially in school) and need to punish those who use it. However, if it is true that only the big kid got suspended, this is a crude decision mistake which totally sends the wring message.

Edit: saw that Casey was suspeneded for 4 days and the bully was suspended fo 20 days. That kinda sends the right message.

Casey did the right thing. He only helped everyone by doing what he did. You go Casey, stand up for yourself. Tell your story for years to come and have video evidence that you, one Casey by name, are Casey the Conquistador, reconquering the hallways of school for the people.

The OP states that there were more than one bully around him. The video supports this claim, there were at least two more.

When dealing with multiple threats...well, you get the idea. Any sort of martial art/CQB class will teach that and it holds true for all ages. Doubt that Casey reasoned like this, but his action was more correct than pulling his punches.

Reminds me of the time I stood up to my tormentor in middle school, it was less severe though.
Good going, kid.

Wow huge slam from Casey thought the kid was dead x.x

Definitely should have just beat the shit out of him, but they are just kids and he probably wasn't really thinking about the bullies safety.

Scrawny fuck had it coming, self defense on big kid's part, i mean he was getting punched in the face - Well worth the suspension. When dealing with bullies, you can't just stop them that one time, you gotta stop every subsequent time after that.

I think that power slam to the ground was sufficient.

With great size, comes great responsibility.

I think a few punches in the face and chest wouldn't have hurt the kid at all, except his ego.

A body slam on the floor, a few degrees off, could've broken the kids neck.

So yeah, I think punching the smaller kid is a better option.

Even a few kicks to the chest, would've definitely been a lot less harmful then throwing the kid upside down on the floor, pretty damn close to head first on the pavement.

All the more reason not to provoke people who can physically lift you up and slam you by hitting them in the face

Even then, he doesn't deserve to be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, which he could have been, for a stupid childhood bullshit.

The bullies should've been suspended too. Only going to escalate and inflate their egos even more since they weren't suspended.

Maybe the video doesn't catch the whole scene, but I think the larger kid was completely justified. The little kid punched him in the face, what does he expect? 100% self defense, I don't see how anyone thinks he overreacted. Not like he grabbed a baseball bat or anything, and even then I most likely wouldn't hold him at fault. Little kid shouldn't be trying to start things.

Edit: Just like the little kid shouldn't be paralyzed for being a kid/jerk, Casey shouldn't be punished for being scared and not knowing how to fight. If he did kill the kid, I don't think you could blame him. He doesn't know what kind of force he's using, he's scared, not thinking rationally, just wants the kid to stop, etc..

small bully got what he deserved.

just watching the video is evidence enough to only suspend that smaller kid. there's no other option for casey, it could be potentially 3 or more on 1 if they wanted to. self defense is self defense, theoretical injury or death is not accounted for.

Why would anyone bully someone three times his size . . . the kid's a human, not a lumbering bison.

I wonder if you have ever been bullied in your life. Doesn't seem like it.
If you were bullied, you know that when you snap, well.. YOU SNAP!!!

I used to be bullied by this big kid and once when he pushed me to the ground (while being in the ground) I went for his nuts. The kid cried non-stop and never bullied me again.

This brought a tear to my eye - i had very similar experience happen to me in elementary school. I started grade 1 in scotland (you start when you are 4 1/2 ish) so i was always a year younger when i moved back to Canada and US. In my math class in grade 7 this kid would pick on me every day sitting behind me, slapping my head etc.

One day he slapped my ears with both his hands and in rage/instinct i grabbed my metal ruler, turned around and stabbed it through his hand lol. Suspended for a week. Never bullied again. GG.

So no, i don't think Casey went too far. Too far would have been jumping on him and pounding his short little head into the ground. Did you hear everyone gasp in awe as that kid went down lol? I doubt people will fuck with him much when he gets back to school;.

edit: to add to this, i go to college with the kid now and one night he was drunk and broke down into tears apologizing for being a dick when he was younger. Kids.

The kids recording the incident were looking to humiliate what they thought would be an easy target. They thought, "We've done this for years. Why haven't we made his humiliation reach a wider audience?" "Imagine how awesome our friends will think we are." "This will be great! He won't fight back, we are clearly his betters."

But the gods were listening.

So they approached him, surrounded him. Thought to contain him. Their first mistake.

So it began in earnest. Taunting came first, it always does. What was it this time? "Ginger"? "Fatty"? Whatever it was, we know it now as "Their Second Mistake."

The gods were listening.

"Step it up to violence," they thought. A foolish youth came forward and grabbed him by the collar. More taunting. A strike to the head.

The youth displayed supreme confidence. He could taste his victim's humiliation. He even toyed with his victim when they had the audacity to raise a hand to ward off blows. His friends, out of sight, jeered and cheered on their youthful champion. Their golden child.

The camera was running, the youth was giving a show. He danced a little, jabbed at his victim. He wanted more than physical dominance, he wanted to break him down psychologically. It was cruel. It was vile. It was hubris.

It was their last mistake.

With a speed born of many torturous years, Casey lunged. Catching the bully off guard, he closed the gap between them and encircled him with his mighty hands, hefting the arrogant youth and holding him aloft in the sky, completely helpless.

With the might and wrath worthy of Zeus did Casey hurl his malefactor back to the earth like a thunderbolt, burying him in a pile of his own shame and arrogance.

The gods heard.

The ground trembled. The youthful arrogance that rang out only moments before became stunned silence. This hallway was Casey's arena. His opponent lay defeated in the sand. The silence was his great cheering mob.

It was deafening.

As he circled his defeated abuser, Casey displayed a restraint that convinced one and all that this was not beginner's luck. If his opponent didn't thank the gods for their mercy, he should. Casey could just have easily laid waste to his face with a mighty boot at any time.

It would have been justified.

Casey faced what remained of his tormentors, hands at his sides. Casey was no longer a victim. With a look that promised them all destruction and a trip to the underworld, they knew the fight was done.

Casey, the only man present, walked away.

I mean, they have footage of that guy punching him in the face TEN SECONDS earlier and making fun of him in front of everyone.
If it was just words, slamming the kid into the ground would be undeserving, but it was almost a fight.
This sort of systematic bullying messes up person's psyche, you know.School shootings happen later..

Obviously, if his neck broke or something it would be a different story, but at least he'll know not to fuck with a guy twice his size anymore.

Casey was completly justified in his actions! You dont go into a fist fight when you are outnumbered, you do what he did and take them out and walk away!

Bullied people fighting back is always heartwarming to see

Why are little tiny dogs always barking and freaking out all the time? They try to make up for their size!

Little scrawny kids see an emotionally weak, probably shy relatively "fat" kid and don't get any response that would dissuade them from continuing to bully him, so they continue doing it, escalating their fucked up antics until the kid slams the fuck out of one of them.

I applaud Casey. Schools are way too tame in handling bullies, always trying to avoid trouble. Of course, it is easier to just look away when someone's life is made hell rather than acting on the responsibility they have. It is a shame how the majority of society sees bullying as 'normal' and 'acceptable' or even faults the bullied ones when they try to defend themselves. Children get away with too much.

That kid has a wrestling career ahead of him. It might not be right to strike back, but they are just kids and it takes someone with confidence and self-esteem to turn the other cheek, not a kid who has obviously been bullied a lot.
