I don't eat there often, but I guess I just don't see the issue. ^this also just wondering. The oats and isolated something protein seem to be most of the replacement, could those actually be healthier? Any nutritionists around?

Taco Bell turns out to be healthier than expected, and some fans are upset? Lulz.

ha, yes I just copy pasted the title from one of the articles cause i thought it was amusing (the yo quiero taco bell dog).
Me personally, no quiero isolated oat product.

Yeah pretty much all processed foods in North America are buffered with genetically modified "Roundup-Ready" zombie soy. Just read the ingredients label on anything in your local grocery store; everything has soy. If it doesn't say "organic" its most certainly GMO. Best to avoid it, buy organic.

I think I'm going to get taco bell today, this story just makes me want it.

Fuck it man, I'm down to go to taco bell right now.

Where the hell do you guys live in the US that is so devoid of Mexicans that you'd go to Taco Bell?

Not to be a jerk but I'd rather not eat at a family Mexican restaurant when I know 90% of the money will be leaving the country rather than being fed back into the local economy.

Also, the extra stuff is pretty much what they put in Boca burgers. But the main ingredients are still beef and water. And the USDA regs are irrelevant; those are regulations for butchers, not for prepared restaurant food. Obviously you don't want your raw ground beef to have added water (per USDA regs), but it's kind of a necessity when making taco meat. Stupid lawsuit is stupid.

I've always thought Del Taco > Taco Bell. This bolsters my case

Fuck yeah

Unless they can show that they were explicitly hiding this fact, or advertising that it is more than 35% beef, this is a non-issue. People can buy and sell whatever they damn please.

I love Taco Bell. This story does nothing but make me want more. Personally, I prefer their bean-burritos, because I think they are way better stuffed. But this story definitely will lead to a bit of a marketing and advertising change in YUM brands (they own Taco Bell), so lets just see what happens.

Another thumbs up for Chipotle, parents never took me to these kinds of fast food restaurants, now i know why.

Del Taco is so much better than Taco Hell! I used to go there all the time when I went to school in Cali. Unfortunately it's almost nonexistent in the east. I cried when i found out my state was not a Del Taco state

Luckily, I live in San Diego, home to the best authentic Mexican food in the US (arguably). There are mom and pop taco shops on just about every corner. I loathe Taco Bell because I'm spoiled. Also, the term "meat filling" is vomit-inducing.

I know. I don't recall Del Taco ever having a carnitas taco, though.

Honestly the beef consists of maybe 30% of the entire taco or less. They really skimp on it to maximize profits. It tastes good, is made of food, and isn't going to kill you if you have 1-2 tacos.
Chipotle is way overpriced IMO. Again the meat is 30-40% of the taco/burrito what have you. They put rice in their food to fill you up to make you think you got your money's worth.
