Not much though. Oh, and its not necessarily due or die, often cheese can hurt the enemy just enough that it evens the game up again.

I wouldn't exactly describe it as do or die cuz i think cheeze is only in the early game, some exceptions ofcourse. After a certain point anything is fair game cuz u had time to prepare/defend gainst it. How about lookin at it in a positive light? I know early game cheeze is annoying and i get burned sometimes 2, but it'll teach you not 2 underestimate/get lazy. I know it sux when you can easily of beaten this cheesor had the game lasted longer ![]()

So called cheese tactics work because people who sucumb to them take the risk of letting it work. Starcraft is about variety and different tactics. If every game was so called "non cheese" it would be exactly like BGH where you mass 100 hydras and attack move. When someone cannon rushes you, it teaches you to SCOUT effectively next time, instead of assuming the game is to be played exactly the same every game. Starcraft is about adapting to different situations not playing the same game over and over again. Mass dt drops in main works because terran assume protoss will play the standard ob goon range mass xpand game. Why make the assumption protoss should play the same game every time? If anything people who complain about cheese should belong in the same bracket as BGH complainers. They argue the same way.

if you cheese some of the time...it puts your opponent in the mindset that you COULD possibly cheese thus he will play much safer and in the event that you don't cheese you'll be much better off
