It isn't very clear how it's done here or I'm just stupid (can't leave out that possibility, it's way too big).
Oh, and btw, thanks for the help! I appreciate it. I'm not really a fan of Audio-GD's design philosophies and practices (intentionally altering the sound and anti- feedback audiophile marketing BS tactics that rebel without basis against well-established theory, for example), though it's fine if you're sure that's what you want. There are plenty of alternatives though. You can often pay hundreds on gear with lower fidelity than a $30 sound card. Arguably the device with lower fidelity might sound better in some circumstances to some people, as audio preferences are a subjective thing of course. I'd also like them to be able to plug into my iphone 4S. --Thanks guys Used on the go or just at home (should they be sound isolating, or is no isolation okay)? What kind of games (is a good sense of positional audio important, or not)? Any considerations like thick glasses, preferences on clamping force and size, etc.? There are some tradeoffs involved with these things. If you want a random decent suggestion under $150 that may or may not be appropriate, try the Shure SRH840.
Yes direction is very important. I would be playing a lot of COD. Noise cancellation doesn't matter too much. I don't know anything else tbh.

If you don't need to take them outside, don't demand much bass, and don't have a pretty small head, Audio-Technica ATH-AD700 is probably for you. It should be around $100 these days.

Any other recommendations?

I'm in the same boat with ranshaked. With a slight desire for comfort.

My Razer Orca's just came in the mail the other day. They sound really great, were pretty cheap, and I love the look.
Super green

Hmm, okay. What would some alternatives be then? I am lost when it comes to amplifiers. Will try to look for other ones to see if I can find any but suggestions would be most welcome. I am willing to pay 200 bucks for it, tops.
But you're saying a 30 dollar sound card might do the trick as well? If so, any suggestions?

Recently bought myself some Audio-Technica AD700's, they still haven't burned in but thus far they have been fine ( bought them just this morning ) Soooo comfortable, wearing these I realise how steelseries siberia's have pretty terrible sound quality and are a bit uncomfortable in comparison to these ones which feel like I have nothing on at all.

I'm 99% sure the AD700 is what you two want. An alternative is the Senn HD555, but I prefer the AD700s.
|
HD 555 is just so expensive now compared to before, so I really wouldn't go there...
The main issue with ATH-AD700 with small heads is the loose fit. It may be so loose if you lean back, they will fall off. Is that a problem?
But I think there may be some easy mods like rubber bands to pull the wings together, or something like that.
|
Myrmidon please suggest us something!
|
Given current prices, I'd really think about the ATH-AD700 and doing the rubber band mod or whatever to try to see if it will fit better. Buy from somewhere with a decent return policy in case it doesn't.

They block out all sound and feel super comfy. The sound quality is just amazing. I would recommend anyone these headphones if your not looking for a pair to wear around everywhere and to take out. I just love these so far. Thanks for the great suggestions :D Uhh.. unless the ones you bought weren't retail... the native plug is 3.5mm. It comes with a screw on adapter to make it 6.3mm (1/4"), and it looks pretty deceiving when it's on, you wouldn't think that it was just an adapter.
Yeah... talked to my friend today in class and almost fell out of my chair. how stupid can i be. Didnt realize the adapter screwed off for the native 3.5mm plug. O well it was only 2 bucks.

This. AD700 pretty much fits the bill for most gamers. Rubber band mod if you're a pinhead. If you can't find somewhere with a return policy you can always sell it as 2nd hand at Head-fi to recover losses

Ok, I hardly dare to post this here, but here goes:
The earbuds that came with my iPod finally broke after 2 years, and I'm looking to replace them.
*dodges rotten tomato*
So, now that we got this out of the way.. I mostly listen to my iPod while cycling through traffic or while running/working out. Could you suggest new earbuds for me? Basically what I'm looking for is earbuds with kind of the same form factor as the Apple ones, but with better sound quality. I dislike the IEM type earbuds that you plug into your ear canal.
My budget is around €50,00. I would really appreciate any suggestions, as my knowledge on this subject is 0.

I use a Razer Carcharias :D But, then again, sound quality isn't that big of an issue to me.

Oh, one point I just remembered that I hated about my PK3s is that it has a J-cord (as opposed to a Y-cord). That's more personal preference than anything though.

Shure was at my schools job fair yesterday and I talked to them for a while...That would be an awesome internship :D
