Jumping stilts are an up and coming form of extreme sport, mostly in Europe but catching on in NA. These things are really fun, you really can jump high and run fast with little practice.
I just wanted to see if anyone else is into these, if you're interested in parkour, trampolines and the like you should really look into them, they are really fun.
Pro video
Here's an example of what people can pull of on these things.

This looks like an incredibly awesome way to break your neck.
|
oh wow so awesome, they can do almost all the tricks a parkour begginer does ....
|
300 bucks for a pogo stick strapped to your feet? pretty ridiculous
|
Just like skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX biking, trampolines, extreme pogo-sticks. Most sports are dangerous if you don't approach them with caution and safety in mind. Obviously there is a learning curve involved, but tell me you didn't scrape your elbow when learning to ride a bicycle.
|
I'd love to try those out... but I doubt that I could resist doing some crazy shit and breaking myself
|
Gonna get ahead of the curve and start skateboarding wearing those...

Already been done my friend. There are a group of us who have now moved on to doing advanced parkour tricks while skateboards are strapped on to these. Also while chewing bubblegum. Oh and blindfolded too.
Gotta step your game up.

looks really fun
but seariously, the fact that they wear knee protectors doing crazy back flips with no helmets kinda ironic

lol this. Paying $300 to hop around like an idiot when you can do it for free and have more fun with some practice... yeah good idea.
|
lol when they run/jog the first thing i notice is how similar they look to the n'avi looks like so much fun just jogging around rofl
|
And people wonder why i fear google. Only out of respect for TL.net do i allow the ads from teamliquid to appear.

"Jump up to 9 feet!" No. There is no possible way a bit of potential spring energy will propel someone 9 feet into the air.

In the youtube video, none of those guys come even remotely close to having their feet 9 feet off the ground. Unless it was after they jumped off of a 7 foot wall.

dunno, what about this? looks to be like ~7 feet? i guess you might make 9 if you lift your legs up?
