Jumping stilts are an up and coming form of extreme sport, mostly in Europe but catching on in NA. These things are really fun, you really can jump high and run fast with little practice.
I just wanted to see if anyone else is into these, if you're interested in parkour, trampolines and the like you should really look into them, they are really fun.
Just like skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX biking, trampolines, extreme pogo-sticks. Most sports are dangerous if you don't approach them with caution and safety in mind. Obviously there is a learning curve involved, but tell me you didn't scrape your elbow when learning to ride a bicycle.

Already been done my friend. There are a group of us who have now moved on to doing advanced parkour tricks while skateboards are strapped on to these. Also while chewing bubblegum. Oh and blindfolded too.

maybe they measure from the bottom of your feet no matter your orientation.

In the youtube video, none of those guys come even remotely close to having their feet 9 feet off the ground. Unless it was after they jumped off of a 7 foot wall.
The air trekker site is totally bogus, just extreme advertising trying to attract people. You'll notice the front page says "jump 10 feet", the product specific pages say "jump 9 feet", and the box they come in says "jump 6 feet." Advertising is total bullshit, the point is you can jump high than you can on your feet.
It's a lot like being on a trampoline everywhere you walk. I even outsprinted one of my friends on them, by a lot. People can hate on them if they want but they are a good time, as valid as any other activity or excercise.

Guy in another video said the stilts add about a foot and a half when walking. Then anywhere between 5-6 feet when you jump. So a 6 foot person can easily get their head up to 10-11 feet. Imagine shaq or some pro baller, that would be nuts.
also at the end it says you can run up to 25 mph and jump your own height.
