I guess I just don't like bothering people with the bass, so I use a set of headphones. Audio technica ad700's which I keep on my head basically 24/7 That's what i like about the logitech z5450, when you activate the night mode, it changes the sound dynamic a bit so you won't notice that big of difference yourself but people in other rooms notice it.

Gonna upgrade to 5.1 as money allows, haven't decided the back/center yet.

wow. a lot of nice looking stuff. Think I'm gonna have to invest in something to get rid of my ancient kenwood speakers. Think they're about 15+ years old now.

To be honest, I love bass! LOVE IT! That's one of the reasons I will buy Z 5500
I have a very small room, so I don't really need them, but I want to have good sound

I got a entry-level hifi system for my computer alone which has been worth the price 100%. It's a Mirage NanoSat 7.1 system going through a Onkyo Sr705.

creative gigaworks s750 for the last 5 years. really great quality but it just died on me a few weeks ago so won't spend so much next time.

This (Microlab Solo 7):

I would recommend getting a 2.0 over any 5.1 if you don't plan on using the surround (listening to music 95% of the time -> 2.0 owns a 5.1 at the same price).

How come I have Klipsch earphones (granted, it was a discontinued model bought for 35% of MSRP new) but not Klipsch speakers?
They look so small in comparison...I think my audial manhood is in question.

Bose Companion 2 are IMBA!

These... pretty good, I got mine for $68 (free shipping) so it was definitely worth it. I've seen them on woot! for as low as ~$50 now.
They have a bit of trouble with extreme highs so the tweeters aren't the highest quality I assume, but still very good set of speakers.
