I am sorry to disappoint you but this is not about Samsung KHAN but this might be interesting to some people.
Basically this guy makes series of videos about some subject and puts them on youtube for everyone to learn from. Whether it be Calculus, Banking/Money or prep for the SATs it is very helpful. There are so much more topics than the few mentioned. Definitely check this out if your learning anything listed as a topic. If this helps someone great and if you know someone who could use this awesome videos to learn from even better.
DUDE WTF WHERE WAS THIS WHEN I WAS IN HIGHSCHOOL. Could so use this when i've forgotten everything after getting home and just trying to start homework.
Fuck who needs school anymore, you could just sit home watch videos and do work book exercises and then binge starcraft.
I would like to add that you can find ALL of MIT's courses online for free. A lot of them have video lectures, and hw assignments online. http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/web/courses/courses/index.htm This stuff might be a little more advanced then what you found, but you can still pick up tons of stuff from the video lectures.
this is really useful since my teacher for calc has been sick and the sub hasn't taught us anything (we spent a 1.5 hours doing 2 problems today). the calc and chem sections are going to be really useful this year.
Sal received his MBA from Harvard Business School. He also holds a Masters in electrical engineering and computer science, a BS in electrical engineering and computer science, and a BS in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
My thirteen year old lil bro has been learning from Khan Academy for quite some time now. It's pretty neat stuff that he's able to follow and understand the videos very well.
that's great work, he's an altruist if i ever heard of one not to mention he's a cerebral stud. i'm kinda relieved that his site wasn't around when i was still in school, with the crappy net connection i had back in the day it would've taken me forever to watch the vids.
My goal is to cover everything. Yes, everything! Most of k-12 math has already been done (although I do need to make 20 or 30 more elementary math videos). Physics is 90% complete. I'm working on Chemistry right now (9/2009) and intend to to Biology next. After that, I'm going to do History. As time permits, I also need to finish the Linear Algebra and Differential Equations playlists. My goal really is to keep making videos until the day I die (which will hopefully not be for at least another 50 or 60 years). Should give me time to make several tens of thousands of videos in pretty much every subject.
What is the long-term goal for the Khan Academy?
I see Khan Academy becoming the world's first free, world-class virtual school where anyone can learn anything--for free.
The videos are just part of the vision. We hope to build out the adaptive software to cover all the topics that the videos cover. We also intend to develop simulation games to give more nuanced and applied understanding of concepts.
This guy is seriously unbelievable. He quit his day job to work on this full time (HE HAS 4 DEGREES FROM HARVARD/MIT!) and he hopes to keep at it until he dies.

lol good luck, waiting until you get to do LP in some weird language or need to do non-linear optimisation
I came across this website today while I was studying for my botanic test next week.
This is really amazing, it helped me quite a lot to fully understand ATP. It doesn't give too much detail, but I think it is actually a good thing to simplify here and there to draw an understandable picture.
I don't know about the other subjects, but the biology section is excellent!
Rofl so random that you bumped this because not 2 weeks ago i found this guy, and have been going over all my first year linear algebra and calculus with it because i took a year out, even alot of the differential equations and line integral and physics stuff is super helpful for my second year, wish i could donate to this guy as hes better than 30euro/hour grind teachers
This guy is too good. Can't express just how much it helped when i stumble on his statistics and probability videos. For anyone studying anything definetely check if he has any videos about it.
I'm more impressed that he even tries to tackle the economic issues, Obama's healthcare plan, and other topics the average citizen needs to know about.
I stumbled upon Sal a few months ago and man he's awesome, helped me tons. Only regret is that I didn't find him earlier. You should watch his speech videos, they're quite interesting.
Nice find. Awwww yeeaaah! Gonna haul some ass in Calculas! Get dat ass into UofT! My cousin's doing pretty bad in school, gonna send this stuff to her. You just saved an academic career.
Wow, I listened to him 2 days ago and I liked it (physics learning ftw xD) Now I come here on TL and see there is a topic. lol I listen on iTunes though. This guy is awesome.
This site helped me a lot when learning multivariate calculus last semester. He often simplifies and usually he doesn't dig too deep on the theory side of things (except in the proof videos obviously) but that's what my lectures are for. When you need to understand the basic concept of how something works and how to compute it, the videos are extremely helpful.
I remember when he launched his site when the housing bubble hit and he explained much of how it all happened. He's phenomenal, clear, and his contribution is just really really admirable. He's a great person for doing what he has done.
I've watched so many of his videos out of pure interest, but he also helped me through my biology exam in highschool, which made me pass it with the highest grade possible (12). This project is truely amazing.
Here is the response I got when I posted this link on another forum: "Because I obviously weant to learn about math, history and other boring stuff in my spare time."
So really he's like a talking wikipedia? lol. I'd heard of him before, supposedly he got tons of money to run his non-profit educational effort.
I think the most important thing is still just to keep students intrigued and entertained because everything you ever need to know can be found through some combination of wikipedia/google/mathworld.
I really like this site. Working my way up the basics on the Practice page just for the hell of it, and when I know I'm going to make use of it when I take Calculus and harder sciences.
If you have an account on facebook or google you can easily login to use the practice problems for math. These range from lower arithmetic to the beginning of calculus. The practice problems and videos will give you points for completion, eventually leading to earned badges.
While the videos might suffice for some, you might want to suggest on-site practice problems for those you feel need it.

The videos are great but it's the practice problems have the potential to change how math is taught. Watch a short lecture, solve practice problems, review lecture if needed (i.e if you have trouble solving the problem). Hopefully they'll soon cover all of K-12 math. (At least the parts that can be checked by solving simple problems)
