from what i have seen/heard, biggest problem people have with the huion tablets is pen tracking distance, because it's way smaller than ctl480 (by like 3-5x, even), so it's harder to hover - but some like them more, even at any price range, because of lower input latency. If you're concerned about input lag though, the difference between a 60 and 144hz screen is way bigger than the difference between the two tablet types, AFAIK I just went through a period of lowering area to try and make cross screen jumps more comfortable, but in the end it didn't work and immediately upon returning to higher area (6.33cm for osu window height) i was more confident with movement (see failing remote control HR like 150 times and then fc-ing first try when back to bigger area) 345 plays - Saiya - Remote Control [Insane] not even mad

I've been thinking about buying one, but i'm not really sure about anything, really. I think I don't really need any fancy stuff, just 144hz. Although being able to adjust the height would be nice. Thanks in advance for any time invested.

The previous monitors were really the asus vg248qe and some benq z series model with v2 firmware. They generally have good stands because they're fucking expensive monitors, vg248qe that i have has basically everything that you could possibly think of on a stand, like best in the market. For actual performance.. 60hz (16.67ms per refresh) adds peak latency of ~16.67ms from refresh only, average 8.34ms. 144hz adds peak ~6.95ms, average ~3.47ms (so cutting nearly 10ms from peak, 5ms from average) since it's 2.4x refresh rate, especially if you are capable of running a game at very high FPS like osu, there is really a massive difference in smoothness and latency, but i must also stress that it is EXTREMELY subjective and one or both of those points (animation smoothness, latency) can either be seen as a massive change, or be hardly noticed depending on the person. For some, they're the most important part of entire system, but i've talked to several people who said they didn't really notice differences

Well, i can't really say exactly; new monitors were due in q2 with gsync and ULMB tech, but they didn't really arrive yet. I think an AOC one did, which is a less known brand, but i don't know much about it. The previous monitors were really the asus vg248qe and some benq z series model with v2 firmware. Thanks for the info, i'll certainly look into it. Although i'm not sure (there may be other causes), i feel i see signicant latency and feel some 'lack of smoothness' when playing respectively any ar and high ar, so it might make some difference. Of course, like i said, i will compare monitors before making any decision.

Also, why do people keep such awful names like that lol. And yeah, when every ms counts, lots of things can affect latency.

my 10.3 is still a little shaky, and i'm still learning to do cross screens properly on tablet.. but overall aim i am very happy with :D i have been playing some very high BPM and/or AR on relax. Moving past 9.2+dt i think, and got a few maps at 300bpm

To make this less of an osu diary entry, I also have a question for you guys. How do you stay focused and "in the moment" while playing? I play my best when I'm able to shut everything off and just let my hands move without thinking. The second I start thinking about what I'm doing, I immediately start missing a lot, and I can't always get back into that zone in time before I fail. I feel like this is holding me back almost as much as my actual mechanics.

Really big jumps like on remote control are giving me a bit of trouble since it's at the limit of how far I can move my mouse with just my fingers What sens are you using now? To work that out you need to know DPI, the resolution of your osu window and also if you're using any sensitivity multipliers (so osu 1.00x with raw input, or making sure that windows is at 6/11 with enhanced pointer precision disabled) The focus stuff, i felt the same a lot and i still do, i found no fix aside from focusing on short maps (i can do maps of WAY harder difficulty if they're only 45 seconds to 1:30 or so long) and trying to play a lot of really long maps (like 3-7 minutes)

I also have mouse accel disabled in windows, so I guess the raw input isn't really necessary.

i used other extreme once of entirely forearm movement and i could do crazy stuff with it, but overall not as good as higher sens i think. Many successful people with mouse seem to use DPI levels that i am very uncomfortable with for better snapping, stamina etc

Also, when my cursor is very low on the screen my bottom of my hand touches the mouse (where you'd normally hold it with palm grip).Yup, my wrist doesn't move even on really big jumps. I think ~1600 is about the lowest you can go using just fingertip movement. I actually used to play on something silly like 3000 dpi for the longest time. It took multiple people pointing out how horrendous my mouse control was for me to finally change things. Slowly climbed down to 1850, where I've been for the past few months, but I think I've finally found my sweet spot at 1700.

I didn't really like that sens, but it seems like a bit of a handicap to use lower or higher - obviously higher makes it more and more difficult to hit small circles and stay stable, but lower can make stuff like screenwide squares and very long maps very very painful My preferred mouse sens is pretty close to what Funorange uses, 750dpi on 1920x1080 - which is 1.6x slower than yorbon sens. I'd maybe even go lower than that, i was looking at ~640 on 1080 so ~1.875x slower Tablet feels best of both worlds, i can get the feeling of using 1/3 of the sens that yorbon is using, while also still having crazy reach

Nah, maybe that's changed, also I havent played last week and noticed some worsening of my ability to play cross screen jumps. ):

you have stronger reading ability but i dont feel very bad about my actual accuracy and speed and i'm still improving on both of those, and i have a lot of improvement to come on cross screens in the future http://puu.sh/bPfzX.webm just broke 3.5k pp and rank 4k --- ^cs7 od9, pretty fun, short, obnoxious map :D --- Hard with HR. Quite fun and gives a fair amount of PP +HR (99.55%) 247pp if you can get it down, i might be able to but will take some time and some acc % loss
