there is a building u upgrade in each city that determines how many armies u can have moving around at once.
each army would be a "wave", I guess

To be in an alliance we should've all started in the same "country", we're all spread out

So I took the 10% prestige cut and left my the alliance I was stuck on.
I had 2400 prestige after playing half a day, and was no.2 in the 4 man alliance
Shouldn't have been so hasty just for doing quests.
Upgrading to level 4 town hall at the moment 
1 hour 40 minutes!!

Raptors, the alliance I am in, is soon starting it's sister alliance. You guys should try to join it once it starts.

Should I focus on upgrading my townhall or just mass resource farms? When should I start get soldiers, within the 7 day newbie period or just near the end?

this is the biggest waste of resources u could possibly do. right now food is EXTREMELY cheap on the server. don't even make more than 1 farm(for the quest). just buy your food off the market and save the resources u would use on farms for cottages instead. i'd recommend something like 40% lumber, 30% stone, 25% iron, 5% farm.
set ur tax rate to 100% and use disaster relief every 15 minutes.
if u are going to be offline for a while, bring ur tax rate back down to like 25%

first focus on completing the basic quests
then build up your resource production until you are out of money (but also try to get lvl 2 town hall).
then get inn, feasting hall. look in the inn for a hero with high politics (45+ if ur just starting, 55+ if ur town has been aorund a while). high int is important to but politics are more important. if u need to, upgrade the inn to lvl 2 so a 2nd hero is there. use hero hunting if u have to.
recruit the hero with high politics. use holy water on him and redistribute the points to politics. go to feasting hall and make that hero the mayor. it will give u very big bonuses.
after that, focus on filling your resource fields with lvl 4 stuff, also try to get an academy so u can start researching stuff.

A neat trick is also any buildings that take less than 5 minutes to finish can be sped up for free, this lets you mass lvl 3 cottages or lower level resource fields without waiting for the build time.

So I gave one of those Cross Medals to my hero, so now I don't have enough medals to be promoted to Knight, in order to build a new city.
What should I do.
