Always have rally point to the highest level possible.
Rally point is very important to launch many attacks and even to send out max troops.
Relief station is really worth the time, you will regret not upgrading a relief tower.
Upgrade the Beacon Tower highest you can so you can be ready whenever an attack is taking place.
When possible, always have 2000 scouts or more in the base. If people try to scout you and fail to scout you, you will be a less of a target.
One of the biggest thing that helped me at the start was exploiting the market. This all depends on the server but especially on the new servers, wood will be the most wanted thus most expensive resource on the market. Basically after my first town, all I had in my resource field was 1 farm 1 mine 1 stone and all the rest lumbermill. Always look for whats the most expensive and try to farm a lot of that and sell to buy the cheaper ones. Trend can change later on but lumber is always expensive since all the units and even the archer tower needs a lot of woods.

Man, I really messed up my start lol. I just realized the quest rewards > cost to achieve quests. But I don't have enough resources to really grind those quests. Like build this building which costs A B C D, but the reward is A+200 B+300 C+0 and D+500 or something of the sort.
Now I can't get my town hall level two which is so expensive, but the reward would've made me resources if I knew that earlier.

I don't think so. However u can do stuff with walls, u can research, and u can build or upgrade buildings all at the same time. oh and u can make troops / get heros
also, make sure to claim ur gift and use ur items intelligently.

Haha, playing the market is pretty good way to make money/resources, you can usually buy sell orders at a lower cost than the regular buy orders. I've gotten so many free resources this way, making up for my crappy decision making at the start.

im super confused, i sold some shit for 1k gold when i had 9500 and then i got the quest for having 10k gold so i had like 12 or 13k, and all of a sudden i have 4 and no idea where it went
i only ugraded 1 or 2 things and theres no way they were 5k a piece

In travian when you attack other people sometimes you send multiple waves, first wave to kill their army and following ways to steal the city or to catapult it to the ground. This can be done because you can open multiple instances of travian (tabs) and send one after another fast.
Does this game depend on that? how do attacks works? raids? etc.
Or is it more of a sim city game?

u follow the quests by hitting quest button and doing what they say
you get a mayor buy building an inn, a feasting hall, recruiting from the inn, and appointing as mayor from the feasting hall

So I took the 10% prestige cut and left my the alliance I was stuck on.
I had 2400 prestige after playing half a day, and was no.2 in the 4 man alliance
Shouldn't have been so hasty just for doing quests.

this is the biggest waste of resources u could possibly do. right now food is EXTREMELY cheap on the server. don't even make more than 1 farm(for the quest). just buy your food off the market and save the resources u would use on farms for cottages instead. i'd recommend something like 40% lumber, 30% stone, 25% iron, 5% farm.
set ur tax rate to 100% and use disaster relief every 15 minutes.
if u are going to be offline for a while, bring ur tax rate back down to like 25%

first focus on completing the basic quests
then build up your resource production until you are out of money (but also try to get lvl 2 town hall).

A neat trick is also any buildings that take less than 5 minutes to finish can be sped up for free, this lets you mass lvl 3 cottages or lower level resource fields without waiting for the build time.

One way I know is to click map, click a valley, and it should say the state it is.
Prestige is the number next to the purple/white stripe flag. Near your picture.

Won't food go severely up in price once every starts churning out armies? I know i built too many farms before I realised I didn't need to.
HUGE amounts of lumber are necessary, though. I built my second city recently and oh god it's going so much slower than the first due to lack of quest. (otoh I can send it resources, so it's not all bad.)

If you get kicked from your alliance you don't lose prestige, so ask your guild officer to kick you instead of just leaving.

Ok so im making the tutorial quest, but i just have something like 300 of prestige. Iam reading ITW guide and i wont go up that fast, is it going to get a boost or something like that?.

Prestige something that goes up as you meet quest objectives, research new technology, and build more buildings. So it isn't something that will go up fast, but if you constantly have things queued, it should go up at a decent pace.

hmmk. i'm actually just quitting...it gets to be too much of a time commitment, honestly. i would offer cities for plundering, but i'm server 1. my credentials are that i'm vice-host of one of the top 50 alliances, 180k prestige, and a top 50 player in honor. so then.
a few tips:
--build wood, and only wood. it is always the most expensive resource; therefore, every 1 unit of wood is worth more than 1 unit of any other resource, meaning if you have a plot producing 4800 wood per hour, then you are actually producing over that amount for every other resource.
--don't try to keep your food production positive; you will severely limit your army growth that way. just keep epic amounts of food available (i usually kept about 100 hours supply)
--build archers, all archers. send massive amounts of archers and 1 of every faster infantry type + cavalry. for example, to take down a city with 4k archer towers i would send 40k archers, 1 scout, 1 sword, 1 pike, and 1 cav. i've killed 10k troops and lost under a hundred soldiers this way.
--keep a force of about 3k scouts in every city. most people scout with 1-2k scouts; 3k will beat them nearly every time. 5k scouts register as attackers, not scouters, so they auto-die as well.
--mass up about 500 ballista and 1k transports per city. then find a lvl 1, 2, 3, or 4 barbarian city and attack with only the ballista & transports. you can do this all day and earn immense resources for free; barbarians respawn resources every 5 minutes.

I was gonna post about this game but I didn't think people might not like it so I didn't post and I see it's pretty big here. I'm on server 3. Currently top 20 rank. I think it really helps being a bw player and especially being zerg user(expand and mass). I will give some tips for the newer players.
Heroes are important. You will need different types of heroes. Political hero for faster building and earn more resource, Intel hero for faster research, Attack hero for faster unit build and bonus during attacks. Don't level up a mediocre hero. You want to recruit a hero that has AT LEAST 60 attribute on a level 1 hero. If he's level 7 then 67 and so on. You will want good political hero in every city as a mayor since you build mostly and u will be constantly building even after month of game play. You just need 1 Intel hero and at least 1 attack hero or more later on.
Don't mass cottages. New players tend to make 20 level 4-5 cottages and make 2-3 barracks.
You want to make just 6-10 high level cottages.
You want at least 10 barracks in every city so you can constantly pump out units.
When you have level 9 wall, you can delete your workshop to have additional space for a barrack.
Same goes for Inn. Just get your Feasting hall to at least level 5 so you can have multiple heroes to launch many attacks.
Always have rally point to the highest level possible.
Rally point is very important to launch many attacks and even to send out max troops.
Relief station is really worth the time, you will regret not upgrading a relief tower.
Upgrade the Beacon Tower highest you can so you can be ready whenever an attack is taking place.
When possible, always have 2000 scouts or more in the base. If people try to scout you and fail to scout you, you will be a less of a target.
One of the biggest thing that helped me at the start was exploiting the market. This all depends on the server but especially on the new servers, wood will be the most wanted thus most expensive resource on the market. Basically after my first town, all I had in my resource field was 1 farm 1 mine 1 stone and all the rest lumbermill. Always look for whats the most expensive and try to farm a lot of that and sell to buy the cheaper ones. Trend can change later on but lumber is always expensive since all the units and even the archer tower needs a lot of woods.

btw. another useful hint exclusively to tl.netters. In order to farm level 5 barb cities without any casualties you need about 650 ballistas and about 500 transporters. you will get about 3mil food, 180k of other resources and 300k gold per hit.

First link is dead and for the 2nd link, I posted 2-3 messages ago about the barb city. All you need is about 650 ballistas and 500 transporters to carry all the resources out of it without any casualties. I haven't tested much of other barb cities but for level 6 barb cities you need about 800 ballistas and more transporters.
Some people already know this in the evony forums but please try to keep it for tl.net only because when everyone starts doing this, they will start making a lot of changes.

For those of you who just started up and are asking about:
Rose Medals
NPC Cities
I present my 3 step series.
Rose Medals using Scouts: very very effective
+ Show Spoiler +
NPC City Level 1
+ Show Spoiler +
Fishball recommends using 1.1k warriors followed with 800 warriors and finally 600 warriors at a time. This method requires several waves but not need the workers in mine. His way is probably more optimized, but i'm too lazy so i just make 1 big wave. and transports he says.
- NPC lvl 1 cities gains heavily outweigh the losses.
- Don't forget to medic your guys by going to the rally point and using medic.
- Try to get 2 - 3 lvl 1 valleys to attack so that there will be at least 1 unit upon attack, otherwise no medals will be gained.
- Rose medals, although may still take pages, take much less time as scout only requre ~1 minute to go attack a location

Just started up last night. Accidentally joined an alliance twice so I cut my prestige by 10% twice, oops. I sent a message to get an invite to the alliance.
Name is HotBuns on server 6. Trying to figure out to get to Saxony.
I found the city teleporter item, but it says it teleports randomly. How do I choose which city I go to?

If you are new, you might want to remake an account and land on Saxony first. You can always use your city teleporter that you get from your newbie package but you want to save that for later.

Fishball is owning us all pretty hard, though it's really an Alliance effort. We were very briefly in the top 100, but are hovering in the 105-115 range now. We really need more TL.netters to come!

Haha, I'm actually just sitting at 20% Tax now. Been farming Lv 1 and 2 Barb cities, and making a lot of money. Each city has 10 Barracks, and am in the process of upgrading them to level 9 to get Ballistas for further farming. Later game I should be able to have at least 12-14 Barracks per city.
So did you start on Server 6 yet?

I don't think I will be starting on server 6. I've progressed a lot on server 3 already. Having 9 cities is like playing bw and need a lot of apm to play. One server is hard enough to play while working =/.

We are fucking at war at the moment, and some of us are taking heavy losses.
I'm currently focusing on defense, and reinforcing my 5 cities.

Yes, and no. I did get a medal chest at the start, but I was a complete noob, and wasted a few of the high level medals on hero loyalty.
However, farming level 5 barbs has been very good to me with many many wisdom/freedom medals.

I have yet to make a single Ballista, and only have 1 level 9 Barracks.
Most of my resources have been invested in Archer Towers, currently 4k per town, and city resources. Very close to all Level 9's across the board now.

I haven't bothered with resources at all. It's just about pointless once you can farm barbs. I'm sitting at 100 million food, 10+ million of every resource, and 15 million gold in my farming city. Granted you get a bit of prestige for building up your mills and all that, but I'm just been upgrading my raxes.

I don't have time to actively farm during weekdays, and my resources are almost done anyways, might as well finish it. Just by selling wood, I'm able to sell 10-15 million in cash so far.
I'm also 80% clear with all academy upgrades. My barrack operation would start later this week.
Right now, I just got Jade Dynasty downloaded, installed, and patched within 30 minutes. Beta starts tomorrow. (From another game thread)
This might be the one way ticket for me out, heading towards a better worst place?

Eh, I wouldn't necessarily say Evony is a good game. It's just addictive as fuck. I personally love simulation like games where I have to build something or other (not necessarily RTS), but the whole week research thing gets to you. And the farming isn't all that time intensive. Since I built my base right next to it, it's a 20 minute round trip, and I basically do it while I'm browsing the web, or when I have some free time (granted it's a lot, but yeah ). Now that I know there isn't a chance for TL to actually be 1 and own the server, I hope I can find something else to take my attention soon.

I have a crap load of NPC towns within my circle. Two Lv. 5's, and one Lv. 6, a bunch of Lv. 1-4's and three Lv. 10's.
Gotta wait for nullmind to teach us how to conquer Lv. 10 Cities.

I like how viable it is at the moment to win pvp battles by sending units and waiting for the server to crash so your opponent cannot respond / reinforce.

Lawl. I check it once a day now, but I'm more or less done with it. I lost 300 catapults, 700 ballistae, and 600 transporters to a town I should have been able to take. :/
I've just been building up ballistae since then, but I don't have any motivation to play anymore. The daily roulette of speaker and junior battalions didn't help much.
