Please don't suggest TF2Lobby as what I've heard, it's about on the same level as HoN/DotA community is... Completely brokenly terrible and there is nothing that can fix it in the next 1000 years. And believe me, I have played HoN and I quit it because of that very reason. Why don't you try it for yourself before drawing any conclusions? I haven't played HoN/DotA so I have no idea what that comparison means. I personally get more frustrated when I play on pubs because of the new unlocks, imbalanced class distribution and the vaste amount of totally clueless players. People in lobbies are for the most part better than your average pub hero anyway and usually the standard league weapons are used. The level of voice communication really depends on the people and if you actively use it people are more likely to respond. Of course from time to time you get extremely frustrating lobbies where people offclass as an engie or medic ragequits but what can you do (except remember the name and ban him from your future lobbies ![]() And now that I remembered you could try to play with these guys http://steamcommunity.com/groups/6v6newmix. They arrange mixes in a friendly environment with voice communication and mentors. Better than lobbies for sure. ![]()

If that's the case, it's my problem and there is no point to discuss that. I either find a way around it or I don't. Yes I have bad experiences from HoN and DotA whining in HoN beta and slightly after release. Not anything really bad, but something that might keep me from playing that often. I mean nobody likes to play with a whiner.

I'd like to know as well. Has the HoN community gone better after the Beta ended? I mean people have blamed S2 server lag on our team. Also the standard "YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE HERO /ragequit" has happened. Of course my experiences are outdated at best, but at least in Beta people were raging a lot. Then again I never breached the 1,8k ELO line so I cannot tell from higher level perspective. But yeah I can agree that I went a bit overboard with that and I apologize if it caused any harm.

In TF2Lobby, getting the gist of the game is relative, but simple. For starters, just focusing on the objective and not the kills already puts you more comfortably than DoTA. It's not really fair to compare both games though, they're vastly different. But the reality of it is that the players on TF2Lobby are a lot more lenient or just not as vocal. They'll tell you you suck on occasion, but won't harass you or go to the ends of the world to fully describe and compare your terribleness. edit: Oh, I meant about TF2Lobby being like HoN. HoN still has a terrible community.

To be honest, you have to start somewhere. I'm moderately bad, but I don't get much criticisms. Depends on the team to be honest, some will be vocal, others won't care and be concentrating on the match, etc.

Where do I play tf2lobby? :D It seems like something you have to sign up for and I can't find any servers that are "join and play"

All competitive matches cannot be "joined" in the middle. It's a start to finish sort of thing. You can sign in on your steam account now!

It seems like everytime i pop in there the server is falling apart. I know some of you play on Lotus, have you had this problem lately? Which server on East Coast? I play arena and gotten no lag, but I know for a fact it isn't uncommon from Lotus

I play Lotus arenas and it's always empty until 12-1 p.m. Mana needs to reset the servers sometimes, so yeah, it's probably getting a bit choppy.

I mean nobody likes to play with a whiner. There are some team deathmatch servers where you can practice scout, soldier or demo. A couple of decent finnish ones too, with some top players on every now and then. #gather.fi (@Qnet) is also pretty cool for Finns.
