i myself am quite new to tl and joined with the begin of sc2 beta (as he did) and kwarks questions really arent that hard. if you are interested in tl than you know at least a few names after over a year. i kinda "tested myself" while reading the chatlog and names like waxangel, r1ch, hotbid, zatic and plexa come to my mind quite easy... but i guess this is a humanity problem overall. people want to take part in things which they dont really do anything for. there are so many stupid parasitc beings ![]() back to eve: after running my planetary interaction network for a week now i gained enough P1 materials that i would be able to start the refining production planets - IF i hadnt been really stupid yesterday! i was inside my corphanger and rightklicked the whole 80k stack of Precious Metals and wanted to check marked prices. instead of useing the "show market details" option i klicked on sell. that mistake alone isnt that bad as this just opens the sell window but instead of klicking cancel my hand twitched and i hit the "sell" button .... the market order i sold to was a buyorder from someone who put it up for 1.25isk/unit. thats 99.8% under market price. aktuall value is about 430isk/unit. so i got about 100k isk instead of the actuall value of 35million isk ![]() worse than the acutall isk loss is the time i lost... the stack was a whole week production of that P1 material which i stored until today that i have a buffer for the advanced production facilites so they will run without any downtimes. end of story is that i either have to wait another week or buy the 80k from the market which would increase my loss even more.

My head hurt during the first 10 minutes of using probes to pinpoint places to warp to, but boy was it rewarding when you finally got the hang of it (rewarding in a personal sense, not in an ISK way). Is it a good way to make money? Mining was some good semi-afk-work, and buying and selling by jumping around to get good deals was pretty easy, but there has to be some big hub-like areas where you can sell your goods alot easier any good places to do some trading? Are there more production quests like the one in the beginning, or are subsequent productions always going to have to be paid for by selling on the market?

Jita is the big one in Caldari space.

Exploration (probing) can be great money if you know what you're doing. I paid a new guy in the Hatchery 400,000,000 (a bit more than a months gametime) for probing me down a nice site yesterday. It's a bit unreliable but it pays well in lowsec. Mining is terribad.

I can fly salvage Thrasher. What skills are good to get next? I was thinking about skills that help making money(!), e.g. salvaging, being more effective on the market and so on. Any advice? 2) My mentor gave me 10mil isk (which are already invested in a salvage Thrasher to make money on my own, damn those tractor beams are expensive), so I was wondering if the corp can supply me with the first few rifters? Whom would I speak to about that? Cheers, Max 1) If you upgrade from a Thrasher to a Noctis, it will make salvaging much easier. A noctis will set you back about 50 mil but it pays for it self very quickly (faster salvaging via long range tractoring). Invest in a noctis if you will be salvaging frequently. But you can only get a noctis if you subscribe so it will be up to you. Once you have completed your salvager, I would move onto training up your pvp skills or train up a missioner. This is where people usually get another account, one to train up a pve character and the other for pvp. The corp has skill plans for you to follow if you want. Thanks, thats actually the most helpful reply. For other new people that wonder what skills to get: On the character sheet there is a tab for "certificates". Just check through the ones that sound interesting and pick skills that fit to what you want to do. => Simple way to see what skills exist

Training for salvage doesn't really include many support skills and shouldn't require them. Once you subscribe you may train for a quick noctis but that shouldn't take longer than a day.

ImJed always has a fan, and we can barely kill him. Vov has a chainsaw running in the background, since if he isnt killing someone in EVE, he is killing someone in RL. Kwark usually has the mic up his ass, but recently he took it out.

I did take the recruitment quiz later though but got stopped when I said I had a 2005 TL account, and thus my googlefu was unable to be put to use.
