Re-activating. I've been playing 3 months, and i'm only just approaching 5m SP. no point wasting that time if you've got some already.

Im pretty sure theres a noctis kill somewhere that was taken down by noobships so its not that much of a stretch to think a freighter might be used to bump (specifically to undock and immediately bump a ship sitting at 0 on a station.)
Caelum and Sard are most likely referring to lowsec, where you would have to be rather insane to bring a freighter without proper scouting and perferrably a support fleet to protect it. Ofcourse if I happen to be wrong on any of this feel free to correct me, or just try to bump one of our (and im using 'our' to refer to the hatchery) ships outside of the top station in oddelulf. I would love to see if it would actually work. Obviously you wouldn't use a freighter to scout in lowsec. Yes, I did mean hisec. There's a video out there on youtube of a Rokh dying to noobships, I remember I saw it a long time ago. I forget who did it.
You need to differentaite between amusing oddballs facts and *dumb stuff*. Scouting with a freighter is dumb unless you are planning on watching a sloth hibernate. "OK guys, I have eyes on him with my freighter hes warped to a gate cluster, I'm following!" 27 minutes later. "Ok I think he jumped, following!" 2 minutes later, "Hang on a sec, wrong gate, I'm reapproaching!"
And on a slightly more related topic, noobships have pretty good dps if you fit t2 guns on them, esp the gallente one which even can fit 2 light drones iirc.

Reactivate, some of your old skills will certainly be useful. Seems like we'll be getting yet another drake pilot soon.

I think we can field 10 drakes/canes in a little under 2 months lol.
|
I was actually thinking about it earlier, I'm pretty sure we can field around 10 now.
I came up with 6 Drakes, 4 canes currently.. although i may have missed people out.
Not including alt's.

God, how many harbs will we have in 2 months, like 5 at least?

I think KwarK puts me at about 3 months till properly flying a drake. Merlins and BBs in the meantime. Wish I'd researched more back before I started playing last year, my skills would be more focused.

Also, it would cost a few billion to buy one.
@Valenius, you missioning without a scout?

I just started downloading the 14-day trial, and I'll be messing around tonight to see what the hell is so great about this game. I'm interested in hanging with you guys, first, because you never seem to shut up, and second, because I want to do hardcore PVP once I'm out of the noobzone. So I'll probably be hanging out in the SCBW channel. See you then.
For now, any tips for the noob? Hey Thermite I think I caught you on the SCBW channel, how are you enjoying it ?

Jumped in, few in local, fairly new guy so i wasn't too worried about him, a couple of carebears. As i jump back into Gonheim there's 3 Anzac guys happily waiting my arrival. Drake, Cane, Cynabal. Hold cloak for abit to check out positions and try and figure out how i'll play this. I start burning back towards gate and the drake agresses me, leaving the cane and cynabal free. I knew i was pretty much screwed at this time, as the cynabal would be able to catch me regardless of whether i tried to burn out on this side, or jump through and get out.
Anyway, I jump through hoping they mess up, The cane uncloaks about 7km away from me, and again it was pretty much over then. I tried to burn out before the cynabal would have a chance to catch me, and got 2km outside the Cane's point range.. only for the cynabal to get point on me a second or two before i managed to warp. The cane had been neuting me before this, and my cap was all but gone so there was not much I could do then.
In hindsight, I probably should have waited for the cane to aggress, and take my chances on the side where I actually had some cap to play around with. PvE fitted isn't great for this though!
Then, despite me spamming the warp button on a planet, They managed to point my pod. I have absoloutely no idea how, as it must've only been one/two seconds after my ship died. Anyway, they popped it but thankfully i had minimal implants in.
Not how I'd planned to start my day really. The beauty of the PvP nano fit drake is that it can actually mission in lowsec and look after itself. A drake, cyna, cane combo shouldn't be able to trap you. The correct way to play it was to jump back, get cynabal to point you on the far side by mwding out then immediately mwd back (cynabal always longpoints and you've got a lot of EHP, you can mess around). Jump back through, thus removing cynabal and possibly the cane from the equation. The drake is a non issue because you can outrun it, the cane is either armour and slow or shield and weak. Simply burn out overheating your mwd and put everything you've got on the cane (if it's actually here and didn't aggress you on the other side).
They only had one ship that was dangerous to you and you can keep jumping around until you know that it's not on the side you're on because they had no tackle.

Hey Kwark, is there any way you can export that training plan you came up with for me for Drakes?

What do you think the ideal skills are for a drake pilot ?
Thanks for the help.

I'd be the wrong person to ask, honestly. I just reactivated, and I'm still working on finishing general fitting skills, I won't be starting on Drake specific stuff for a while with current remap.

Slicer attacked one of our pirate rifters on a gate. I jumped in and opened up on it while telling a second scram rifter to orbit. CN scourge smashed it up and once it was suitably off gate I ordered the suicide scram. 2 rifters traded for a deadspace slicer.
Then Karah found something that he'll probably explain himself.
Then our TS bugged and we tried to suicide on a cheetah but the hurricane couldn't hear the FC and didn't know he couldn't which went kind of badly. Then Karah failed to warp our only remaining tackle ship to the dramiel. Bad times.

Found a selfnamed cnr missioning. Probed him down and called for help. I was in system with a cnhookbill and didnt want to reship 3j out, so i made 2 guys jump in and warp to me, while i warped myself to the cnr. As i land there hes 24km out and i have short point ab. Fortunately he was at 0 speed at the start, so i caught up like 3-4seconds before he had enough speed to warp. A few seconds later the fleet arrives. The cnr now knows hes fucked but attacks me with his drones and launchers. I go down to 50% shield before his drones die and from that point on im stable tanking his launchers. I think if he was stupid and didnt switch to rats to reduce incoming dps i could have solod him, but meh, better safe than sorry. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9453312
