Cool. We have actually used freighters for scouting and bumping before.
Hi Mumbles! Glad to have you contributing to the discussion again.
Freighters are actually terrible for bumping, as even with their large mass, they don't go too fast. They can be very amusing for bait, but why not just use an Orca which is a lot cheaper and can actually fit a tank!
Also, we've never done anything you just stated, as honestly I have no clue who you are in game!
Best wishes,
Sardy

Things were starting to quiet down, people were starting to log off - that time of night (very early morning EU-side). When suddenly Hulks! Two Hulks and a Covetor appear on d-scan. Could be the ultimate troll-bait, could be a pack of noobs mining - either way that's exactly the kind of stuff that The Hatchery (and The Hatchary) will go for. We had people sitting on several gates at the time, and no one saw them warp from any of them - so someone asked whether it might be a wormhole corp. We probe down some WH's and keep seeing these people (Mako Logistico is the corp name) back and forth in our system - apparently just spawning in local, jumping through gates, and then later coming back only to disappear. Much d-scanning and head-scratching was done. Eventually, we figure out 100% which WH they are moving through. It had been briefly scouted earlier as having 2 offline towers so we think that they are moving stuff out of a WH (this Mako Logistico corp is a for-hire logistics corp, presumably working for someone else in this instance). After we are sure of their entry/exit point, we send in a scout again just to watch on the WH side and make a plan to asplode any transport-type ship that even comes close to the WH (moneyz). At about the same time, two interesting things happen. First, our scout is reporting that one of the towers has a forcefield up (remember, no FF's up when the WH was first found). This could mean that they are moving stuff INTO the WH instead. Second, Cael, in the savage state he usually is after getting smashed by Protoss on the ladder, spots a random Armageddon that is apparently going to belt to belt. Most of us are more interested in the WH action instead of just killing some random ratter since we spent a great deal of time and effort monitoring the movements of the logistics corp and finding and scouting the WH, making plans to gank them etc. (also: see moneyz). So eventually, we're just camping the Oddel side of the WH, making plans about who will or won't jump across in such and such instance etc. when suddenly the ratting Armageddon drops right on top of us! We have like 3 BC's and 3 or 4 Rifters so he is basically screwed. He jumps over to the other side, and the instant he is pointed inside the WH, his time is up. He actually jumps back to Oddel in about 5% structure and gets insta-popped on the Oddel side. Apparently his corp is the one that lives in the WH (though we didn't get a confirmed POS ownership from scouting, not really that important at the time). He didn't have anyone who could have scanned the WH down (or us camping the WH) and he was carrying structure reps in his cargo. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=9444874------------------------------------------- Much later on in the night (actually morning, but who's keeping track at this time?) I was "sitting" at a safe on the sun that I use to scan things. Apparently it wasn't all that safe. A Tempest jumps in 98km from me. At this time, I'm already pretty tired and starting to even slur speech a bit on TS so my reaction was pretty fucking dumb. If I had been aligned to something, I could have just warped off instantly, but since I was just slow-boating upwards out of the plane, I habitually found a vector that was perpendicular to the line between the Tempest and myself, and burned outwards. While I was aligning to something, I suddenly lagged and got an evemail. He had popped my ship in 1 shot at about 104 km. I convoed him after and he said he even almost got my pod. Probably used an awful large amount of the corp supply of duct tape for all those sebos. I suspect he had a cloaked Anathema that warped to a sun-safe and slow-boated towards me to give him a warp-in on me.
My corp has been on an artillery kick lately. I wouldn't have been surprised if you would have avoided the volley if you started for max transversal, with or without the MWD, as its damned hard to track frigates at any range.
Also with three sebos it doesn't take more than a couple of seconds to lock a frigate or a pod, as the Tempest has about 450 scan res with res scripts loaded.

I bet Mumbleskates is secretly Thornton using a spell checker. All the mates that he used gave him away. Also his love for Gallente and interesting knowledge pertaining to the myrm alludes to this fact. Perhaps he secretly got unbanned/sekrit different IP. ^^

Yeah that was my guess at first but then again the mods of TL are usually pretty good at IP tracking so im doubtful.
edit : I hate protoss

It's a shame, because I actually really enjoy the combined fleet's between The Hatchery / Gunpoint / Twisted. It's not often currently we get to be part of larger fleet fights, and on occasion it's nice.

After the war maybe we'll become the bestest of friends

As far as I know the war doesnt prevent us from entering in a momentarily situation of peace in order to cooperate against a common ennemy.
This war looks to be more of a relief for the trigger happy arty people at gunpoint.

Who said we can't join fleets with the war on?

I almost attack our own corp when I'm not in the fleet, everyone's a pirate.

Didn't Ariartus once say that while we're at war we won't be working together?

Also I found a TORAH gang. Typhoon, drake, omen, rook, cane, vaga, vaga, falcon, falcon, rapier. Naturally I attacked it but I was a long way from home so didn't have any ECCM on hand to refit so I was eventually forced to call in a cane and two rifters. We arrived and opened up on a cane, rook, vaga, drake combo and killed the rook so they ran away. However their cane was kinda bad at running away so we killed that too. Round 1 to us. They then came back with drake, vaga, falcon, falcon and we very nearly killed both falcons but the vaga slaughtered our rifters and with both cane and drake jammed they were able to gtfo with no losses. Round 2 to them. I then got myself scrammed and quad webbed 6k off a gate with a rapier, falcon, omen and drake on me because I tried to ram the omen. However I did have a second cane by this point and when I told my pair of canes to suicide they tried to switch tackle. I immediately got to the gate at 0 and the canes were able to get clear. Round 3 was a draw but they really dropped the ball. We immediately came back to fight again but they warped out, leaving us the field. However before long they were back with a drake, a pair of vagabonds and a pair of falcons. Furthermore they'd worked out we were nanoing, it was time for .... FASTTACKLESCRAMVAGA! The fight opened with us shooting at their baitdrake and then their vagas warping to the drake. We immediately switched damage to a vaga but naturally they gunned down our rifters. As the first vaga began to feel the hurt they uncloaked their falcons and jammed everything. We immediately headed towards the falcons and somehow between us we were able to force one off the field. The second one concentrated on the canes while the scram vaga burned straight at me. I opened up on it but it was too fast and tackled me while I called for canes to neut it off and save me. Then I remembered it was a vagabond and I was a drake and it was dead now. Realising their mistake they gtfoed leaving us the field. They did not return, ending round 4. We had lost four rifters and killed just three ships but our losses were about 6m while theirs were about 340m so I like to think of that as a win. We also took about 50m in loot and t2 salvage.
