Agree with Nuke Em here. As he said, 9/9/9/7/5 and 9/9/8/8/5 are great for newbs..
Unless you have a very specific plan already figured, it's best to have somewhat balanced attributes.
And imo, very specific plans should be for alts, not newbs just beginning.
Doing something like choosing higher memory & intelligence just to train some learning skills and than redistribute would induce quite a bit of burnout imo; which offsets any otherwise gained SP.
It's only when you have a long term specific plan and are committed to following it does a more modified distribution become more efficient. Don't think it's worth the hassle. Plans change, especially for beginners.

I think the whole *smart* decision to go fresh into the game and immediately set up a 1 year plan sucks balls.
You start eve and you should allready know what you want in a year? Common, that’s pretty unlikely. As long as you keep *some* focus on what you want to get in what timeframe you don't need long plans... Maybe you will need a few days or 1-2 weeks longer to train for something than would be ideal but in the end? Who gives a fuck? It's just as likely that your 1 Year skillplan does not appeal to you after 4-5 Month's and you change it up having trained skills you don't really need/want to need for your new plan

Seoul_Power: Atlas are a bit of a polarizing figure, even some of the staunchest anti-goons are a bit leery of throwing their support behind Bobby Atlas. He's a pretty terrible diplomat and ends up alienating a good number of people. It's really only a matter of time before he says something to offend Evil Thug and gets ousted from his space. It wouldn't be particularly difficult, as AAA sit on one of the few direct routes to empire in the south. Most other places require you to either pass through Curse or the Great Wildlands, both of which are pirate dens, more or less. It's the last line that's interesting: Gentlemen's Club are among the cutthroats in the Great Wildlands.

Well I'm gonna have to disagree here. I came into eve with basic knowledge of how skill training goes and knowing that training learning skills is important I used my first remap 15/9 mem/int then burned thought my learnings. I also trained some key support skills to lvl 5 since haveing 29memory and 20 int gets the int/mem skills done pretty quick. Then I remaped into 15perc/9int since you get good stats for spaceship command, gunnery, navigation and to some extent mechanic, eng and elec but the only high sp skill I plan on training from the int part is energy managment 5 for thermodynamics since most of my other support skill that I need for pvp are at lvl 4. If you plan on doing pvp sooner or later you're going to get into t2 ships and t2 ship require lvl 5 in the t1 hull of the t2 ship and all ship piloting skill are ranked quite high(except for frigate which is 2). T2 guns also require lvl 5 in t1 guns and so on while t2 tanks usually need lvl 4 skills to be fit. Plus if you're into pvp(and you should be since missioning gets fucking boring after 3weeks) perc/int are the only basic attributes you're going to need. Unless you're a gallente droid maniac in which case you'll prob, need some memory aswell.

I'm following Bn`s advice, but thanks all
I'll be burning through some stuff for a few weeks and fucking around in 0.0 dodging gate camps and whatever while pillaging what I can
I'm planning on getting a set of 4+ implants for my combat character to speed up training more - if I get a jump clone can I jump between a throwaway clone and my implant clone whenever I feel like it, or do I need to be at certain stations?
|
You can jump between clones once every 24 hours.
Keep in mind you can only install jumpclones in stations owned by a faction (player or otherwise) that you have very high standings with.
|
Also considering the sudden rise in +4 market prices and the extra reqs for them I suggest you go with +3s in the skill set that you're currently training and no jump clones since jump clones require 8.0 or higher standing AFAIK. That means you'll have to grind to atleast 6.5 with connections lvl 3 which is going to take quite a while.
|
In that case I'll suicide roam 0.0 with another character~
any good space to chill in? I was considering Delve, but I'm not sure. Basically I just want to loot wrecks, maybe salvage stuff, who knows? v0v

Please note: You could imagine the EVE galaxy as a flower, where the secure Empire space is the middle of the flower and the outer lawless regions are the leaves
I wouldn't trust that.
The Goonfleet wiki is a great resource, but you can't access most of it if you're not GF.

would it be worth it to get into eve right now?

yes, obviously the sooner you do the faster you will get the skill points needed. If you specialize what you want to do you can certainly get the skills needed to be useful in a short amount of time. you will never catch up with the yer old vets but who cares, you blow up their expensive ships and candy...i mean mods pop out. all in all it requires relatovly little skill points to get to the pew pew in eve, smarts and the ability to follow basic commands goes a long long way (being able to scan down targets with the directional scaner is also helpful).
