That was a rather confusing killmail. :D Got killed on the undock despite spamming warp like crazy. The alpha did about 75% of my shields. The second hit me right between the critical initial velocity for warp and the actual thing, when I didn't have speed and thus killed me in one shot. I suppose I should have burned off of the station more before warping? This doesn't actually make sense. :/
You're in a rifter, you align very quickly and BC's take forever to lock onto you. You'll be invulnerable for the first 30 seconds upon undocking. Unless you accidentally changed direction or activated a module, he'd be unable to even lock onto you until you start aligning. There is no way he would be able to lock + point + 2 shot you in the 1-2 seconds it takes for you to align + warp off.
Also, your fit made no sense. There is absolutely no reason to fit both an AB and an MWD onto a ship unless you're planning to fight, and even then it's circumstantial. Also with the triple nano, they increase your maximum speed. What does that mean? As you only warp when you reach 3/4 of your max speed, it means you take LONGER to align and warp off.
If you're using a ship purely for shipping shit around (as I'm assuming based on your cargo in the killmail) then you don't actually need any fancy modules since you'll be warping from station to gate to station without any stops.
Next time you undock and see a ship there, do one of these two options:
a) if you're in a quick ship (eg rifter) and the opponent is in a slow-targeting ship (bc, bs, etc), don't change direction or modules or anything. Just right click destination -> warp. You should warp off before he can even lock on you. b) if you're in a slower ship or not as confident about getting away safely, just press ctrl-space to stop your ship. This will NOT remove your invulnerability. Then wait for the session timer to count down to 0 (you should activate the timer in general settings -> activate session timer; the timer will be a little circle in the top left corner) then spam your redock.

This isn't entirely true. Someone with signature analysis 5 and 2 sensor booster IIs on a battlecruiser can lock a frigate in about 1 second. You have to be careful of that and expect your enemies might adapt and start doing that, as most of you fly small, agile, and difficult to lock ships.

Hmm, all I did was click warp and I died while aligning. So it was the triple nano that killed me do you think? All good info to know, thanks.

There's no way he can touch you that way.
EDIT: yeah it was probably the triple nano that killed you. There is almost no reason to have those on a ship that you're planning to only warp from point a to b with. They'd just slow you down.

Hey Kwark, have you received my application yet? Can't wait to start learning to PvP, so I can start applying some small autocannon dakka in a thought-out manner .
|
nanos and istabs would have helped you, ODIs were a bad idea. And I just lost a harb because I'm bad at launching drones.

Edit: In the future, you can do what I did and look at the killmail for something which can be abbreviated into ODI.
