In a way, I can see his position. I think our own 9pool is currently slightly pigeonholed into 'smaller battles and pvp' as we are at war with another corp in the same system AND because of how many newbies there are in the corp. If anyone joins our corp right now, they are more or less forced to fly rifters and pvp whether they like it or not. Over time however, we can expand our own horizons as us newbies get more experience and start branching off on our own. | ||

We're at war so yes, we fight. But we're not always at war. | ||

 And KwarK has it right. Although, I doubt it's going to be me who makes an alliance. It's already a lot of work running a corporation. Leading an alliance doing null sec stuff would pretty much make my life about EvE, and while I enjoy the game, I don't want it to dictate my schedule. 6POOL is going to be PvPing, but at a difference pace from 9POOL. I'd be more than happy to do joint operations with The Hatchery, but KwarK feels we'll just get in the way. But instead of PvP'ing just to be PvP'ing, we're going to be doing it to protect ourselves and our home. At some point our home is going to low sec (several months from now), and then later on it's going to be null sec (many months from now), and in both cases you're going to have to fight others in order to survive, but the payoff is going to be huge. Also, people are free to pursue their own interests (except pirating/scamming), but at some point everyone has to learn the most basic skills to PvP in their respective races' frigates on at least one character. If and when we do get war dec'd and when we move to low sec and later null sec, I'm not going to stand for someone who has only one character of which that character only has mining skills. Being a miner is fine, like all other professions except for the ones I mentioned, but you need to take a couple of days at some point to learn a couple of fighting skills. In return, we'll provide you with the frigates and modules to use those skills in times of war, and you can mine freely when there's no need to fight. And about team liquid people joining: anybody from teamliquid is free to come and go as they please (everyone is free to go, but non-TLers I usually spend at least 30 minutes to an hour interviewing before I decide if they're worth taking on, and I've already had to turn several people away -- kinda takes a toll on you mentally -_- ). I have, however, made it a point that only TL people with good post histories will be eligible to be considered for a director's position. | ||

The second hit me right between the critical initial velocity for warp and the actual thing, when I didn't have speed and thus killed me in one shot. Lots of frig/dessie/cruiser/bc gangs/solo pilots that you get to shoot without taking sec hits. Any ship can work in FW, which is nice for the newer players. Just a thought  | ||
