So tonight I decided I was bored and wanted to brawl some shit.
A WT wolf attacked nou in his rifter so i came with my baller thrasher and got the kill (nou died though buy hey). We went back a bit later (me + nou now in a thrasher) and decided to brawl this WT dramiel that was on gate (Nou had checked the next system which was clear), unfortunately they came for another random way with 3 more guys (loki + wolf + ??), and yeah, my trasher got solod by the dramiel since i tried to disengage, Nou got out.
All in all 25m kill vs 20m loss, not great but its still always fun to run around and fuck with them.
(Also, I just felt like fitting a thrasher, but I forgot to actually check my skills, and yes, i have destroyers 1, fucking win right there, still got a scorp + wolf kill with this baby)

if you like destroyers, train for a sabre
sabres are so fun :3

I second that. My 5 free days expired but I'm think I'm going to sub tomorrow so I'll see you guys around. Thanks to Dex for putting together the overview training session, that was super informative.

ASTOUNDING SKILLS & ABILITIES
If it was possible at all to hear your skittish voice on VT it would at least have been 1-2 seconds shorter lollerskating in each system. Promise.

I've stopped training all combat related skills in favor of mining related things. Mining is so fun!
I want to get better skills and bigger ships and just mine like crazy. Maybe eventually I'll build something to give to the corp. :DDDDDD

I'm not entirely against the idea of an industrial wing to the corp.

Aren't there like 100 members in the Hatchery? I can't remember what the number was last time I checked. I didn't realize that the entire group was actually based off of salvaging/PvP. Haha. That's pretty manly. I just always assumed some members did their own thing. Or am I wrong and some do?

But yah, nothing wrong with becoming more self-sufficient. I think it takes a relatively decently sized group of people to really make industrial stuff work, though. You might want to get 3-4 more friends who want to work on it with you before you commit. Either way, good luck with it guy!

...Im happy not to be your mentor else id feel like I did a terrible job....
eheheh just kidding
Thats the fun part of Eve, someone can find something extremely boring while the other just enjoys it. We will always accept you in corp even if youre... weird.

I'm all for it, since then I might get some use out of my Hulk after all :p. Mining in high sec is just not worth it, and I don't trust my knowledge and skill enough to go mining out into low/nullsec alone.

hey guys just a heads up im not going to be on much for the next 2 weeks, finals week as well as some group projects.

The best high-sec industry to do is from a POS with constant production, research and invention. The 50% speed boost on Invention and the 25% speed boost on production can be worth it if you keep it going 24/7.
Such a new corp could anchor a POS before the standings drop to the average of all the members if you leave the corp 1 manned (who has standings) for a week.
Add Planetary Interaction to the mix (you can do this on low-sec planets for more materials and haul with a Blockade Runner) as well as Research Agents and Exploration and you can turn quite a profit. Mining is only worth doing in a group with an Orca, unless you want to be doing something else while you mine.
Also, Wormholes. Even Class 1's have Arkonor, which says plenty about all the other stuff you could find there. Just make sure to bring a Probe Launcher or leave a disposable T1 scanner frig at a BM'ed safe spot.
Low-sec doesn't have much to offer for industry except moon mining and somewhat better Exploration sites. The abysmal value of Nocxium means low-sec ores are worth less than Kernite, which can be found in high-sec.

Then the question is, is it achievable for the corp to get an orca and an active group of miners? In terms of skills, I could get to being able to fly an orca when I get my learning skill SP refunded. Coughing up the necessary isk will be more problematic though :p. Not to mention the fact that my skills in mining would be kind of wasted, so I'd rather keep using my Hulk.
|
Most pilots that can fly a Hulk are only 7-9 days away from flying an Orca so it'll mostly be an ISK issue for the Orca itself. Miners shouldn't be that hard to find.
Another matter is where to mine. High-sec wise, Kernite is the best to mine and that is only found in Amarr space.
Low-sec just isn't worth mining in with the exception of Gravimetic sites there that can have Dark Ochre, Gneiss or Crokite.
Wormholes can be very much worth it, especially since the rats don't respawn, but the wormhole mass will have to be carefully managed and directional watched like a hawk. And we'd need something to haul stuff in and out with...or just dump a POS in the wormhole.
