I am going to do some FW with Winmatar. Going to head to some plexes and work on rep. Can someone recommend a ship fitting for these plex? Someone gave me a Thrasher fit, but I thought maybe still using a Merlin? I guess the short term goal is to finish training for a SB, and work my way to lvl3 missions. No current long term goals. It used to be train for a Tengu. Is this still the way to go? | ||

They use them quite a bit, and to great effect. Merlins are still a great addition to any fleet, mwd/scram/web/mse Dcu/nano/nano with resist rigs is the way to go for fleet tackle. For plex farming you can just trade the nano's for stabs, if you want to 1v1 in a plex you can go ab with some magstabs and just fight ppl at 0 as they enter. Some ppl go asb instead of extender for that though, I'm not sure which is actually better. If you stick with missiles, you have some options. Talwars/heretics caracals/tengus, there are some fun kity frigs as well. Since the rlm nerf, hmls seem to be the way to go with caracals, you can't solo with them like you could with rlm's because you can't hit frigs for shit, but you can safely add dps to a fight at range, and hml's hit cruisers or bigger well enough as long as they aren't some of the faster cruisers/fits. Armor is very popular in FW, so overall they do okay. | ||
