What are good fleet setups for FW atm? Reactivated my account last week after almost 3 yrs and been FCing some 4-12 sized pub/friends gangs this weekend.

After about three months playing Eve I finally got on the right side of a killmail for a change. Some people from my corp were gasmining a site in our C2. The WH's were still open, critted, but still open. So I decided to jump into the site with my drake.

While I was slowboating to the three ventures a Proteus decloaked, pointed and webbed me and started to fire. I was able to shieldtank him while the ventures warped to the POS and got into their hangars. The first ship that came to help me was a slasher and another drake, dualboxed by a corpmate. Once the Proteus was webbed and pointed himself, and the other Drake arrived I was still on 30% shield with the Proteus overheating for most of the fight. Once my other corpmate warped in a Raven and restored my shield to full power with a remote booster the Proteus just stopped doing anything, realizing he'd done goofed. When the Rokh jumped in it was over quickly, and after a little cat and mouse game he managed to escape the through a HS WH.

After the initial joy of looting his wreck I started to feel a little guilty...untill I saw his previous kills from this weekend. Seems like he needs a Proteus to kill rookieships.

Talwar + tackle is a good setup, cheap, cost effective, and quite deadly. It's great for FW space because you can get into smalls and mediums to get fights.

Nano cruisers are still a thing. Omen, Omen navy, Vov came up with an interesting rail Thorax recently, etc. It's not like the Caracals of old, and you won't be able to get into smalls or novices, but it's still an effective fleet comp if you do get a fight.

You can always go pure frigates, get some people into ewar and/or logi frigs, a few into faster tackle frigates, and everyone else into frigates that do a lot of damage and you can accomplish quite a lot, even against bigger targets.

Nice, thanks for the advice. We've been doing destroyer + tackle set-ups. We tried using cheap throwaway tacklers but they die so quick and sometimes we don't get follow up point. Gonna try to run a malediction today for that

Coercer is a little dps machine with great range for a frig and fantastic application. Not got pyfa on this computer but you want a rack of pulses with scorch, mwd MSE (pointless pvp is best), then nanos, heat sinks, aux power cores, whatever. Never TEs. Rigs go with locus + anti EM. Fly with at least two linkboats.

Yeah but that's what I mean, because of the bonus (if it does in fact get the same bonus) it's basically forcing you to fit it that way. Which is cool and all, but one of the pros to using an AB is no sig bloom... but these are shield tank ships. I just don't get the logic, but I guess this is where tofucake comes in and says :ccp:

edit - I feel like I'm not getting my point accross very well. If Phantasm gets same 20% AB bonus, 100mn seems like it's the only way to go. MWD wastes a bonus and because it's shield tanked you can't AHAC it and use a 10mn ab. It just seems like the ships are being completely shoehorned/gimped because CCP wants them to be played a specific way (presumably shield laser brawler?). It just seems really dumb
