Thankfully, another member is on point and cuts through the tension mentioning that these four don't have any friends, simultaneously tossing out an insult and betraying the kind of skewed perception of EVE gameplay that only serves to add to the boring hours of nothing between the random tiny oases of fun. "Yeah, if we could bring in 10 more guys vs. your 4, we totally would." It's disturbing the low levels of self-worth to which people can become accustomed.

The first real moment any of them start paying attention to the game they're playing (rather than their solitaire or facebook or whatever the fuck) is when the one guy is voicing concerns over whether these 4 tiny ships are some kind of trap for some big incoming fleet. An Astero warps in to save him, so I kill the Astero before he could even use all his AAR charges and warp off..... I go back to killing the Zealot, only to have them drop a Vexor and Daredevil on me. They threw a GF in local as well as a "sorry for blobbing you" line..... Truth be told, the Zealot pilot actually did a good job keeping range and preventing me from scramming him, I wasn't able to go much faster than he was (with the 10mn AB has higher straight-line speed, yea, except I couldn't keep up the straight line speed while maneuvering in), and it was quite tricky spiralling in without taking damage while still enticing him into sticking around so he would think he could get the kill. It actually took a good chunk of time to close the gap. I don't understand the need to always upship people, whether by numbers, size of ships, mass ewar/logi support, or whatever..... It's like most people think that personal piloting skill has zero difference in the outcome of a fight..... And, yet, they can see it happen against them by people who are actually good at this game.....

Man how do people watch a stream like this? He just floats around being useless in space. So boring. (also he RMTs but apparently CCP is fine with that now, since mad_ani isnt banned yet either) Also, this nicely shows the flaw of EVE. The FC gives literally 0 commands that arent "align out and be ready for warp", they get outplayed heavily and FC gets pissed and angry because of the incompetence and theres 0 fun for everyone involved in that fleet and the only solution the FC sees is "bring more people/bring other ships/dock up"

Put it another way, does damage from turrets depend on solely the angular velocity created by both ships or does it also depend on the opponents ships speed?

Or is there something in the damage formula that makes me get hit much more than my opponent because I'm flying at 0 m/s? Put it another way, does damage from turrets depend on solely the angular velocity created by both ships or does it also depend on the opponents ships speed? Galdo's right, and it makes a huge difference on some fits. I used to fly 150mm rail atrons a lot. And I mean a lot. It does phenominal damage at range for a T1 frigate, and is on a super fast chassis, allowing you to dictate the fight, however, the tracking on the rails is pretty shitty, and if you simply orbit something going slower than yourself, you will do almost no damage, and it has no tank at all, so if you screw up you're dead in an instant. To get the most out of the ship, you have to pretty much try to match their speed and direction. It's freaking tough to do, but I got pretty good at it, and was able to kill a lot of things I really shouldn't have been able to kill. Of the targets I could take on, pretty much the perfect counter to me would be tackle frigates, aka something fast and designed to scram/web me and then orbit me, yet there were times when I was still in RvB where someone would come after me, and I'd kill him 2, 3, 4, or more times in a short period of time, even though he's specifically changing his ship or fit to try to catch me. Trust me when I say that when you're flying at over 4k a second and trying to keep out of scram/web range, while staying within T2 point range to prevent them from warping off, and you have to also mimic their speed and direction in order to maximize your dps, it's really fucking tough to pull off. But damn that ship was incredible, there's not a lot of ships or fits in this game where you can pull off stuff like that. Also, no links. I wouldn't be going after just solo frigates (I mean, I would when they would present themselves ofc), I'd go after a small gang, and kill any of the tacklers that came after me by isolating them. While in a frigate. I had one relatively recent fight (just a few months ago) where I had 4 guys in frigates come after me, I legit killed 2 of them and screwed up allowing a 3rd to get away when their leader called for them to bug out, I could have quite easily killed all 4 if I wasn't so rusty at it.....

I've been flying slicers a lot and have similar experience with the kiting, 1 small error and I'm fucked. For some reason comets always get me.. I don't have the issues of tracking with slicer tho that you have with rails.

It was about as easy as going after a fast tackle frigate, because it was a fight where both people could go pretty fast, and I'd be dead in an instant if I got too close (normally a scram/web would kill me, but in this case, a slicer could simply brawl me at that range with scorch, even though I've got a TD)..... Most of the time a slicer pilot would bug out after being TD'd though, so I didn't manage to rack up many slicer kills with my atrons ![]()
