155 sensor strength, flying death to frigates, 361 kin dps (enough). You can switch a lowslot eccm for a nano and a polycarb for a range rig to taste and a bunch of other changes as the RLM give you a fair bit of fitting room you wouldn't otherwise have. Downgrades to the AB create even more room if desired. Equally you can switch the EM ward field to a midslot eccm and then just go nuts with the rigs and lowslots but if you want to be able to survive in PvP it's kinda vital to have some kind of EM plug.

42km, that can be enhanced with rigs and implants if you want or you can just fly close to everything because 100mn AB tengu. I think the 100mn AB is very valuable when being shot at by caldari but it takes a lot of grid which is why I like the RLM downgrade. You want to squeeze on the AB, damage, all the usual pvp mods and somehow also have ECCM, something has to give. RLM downgrade removes a lot of the need for rigors/router rigs/multiple webs which frees up space for ECCM that you would not otherwise have. HLM will result in either weakness against pvpers (I'd not really like to be single web HML vs frigs since then nerf) or something that turns like a brick and goes slow or something with massive EM holes or whatever.

If you go eccm, talons arent necessary. If no eccm, need talons...at least low grade.

Talons are cheap and should be considered anyway for a tengu, definitely used in fw missions. Polycarbs < nanos obviously but it can still move and single web RLM is very capable of defending itself. If you want to be safe without wanting to PvP you can drop the disruptor for a midslot eccm and then go two nanos in the lows and go for missile range or something in the rigs.You could even replace the lows with a signal amp and a warp core stab if you felt keen.

I would feel very uneasy about potential pvp threats while in a fw mission without a lot of sensor strength because a jam at the wrong time, and they do happen, could make things very ugly. FW missions are jammy, I tried doing some vs caldari in a tengu with a midslot eccm and still got jammed a lot.

I would assume that a normal PvP HML Tengu would be fine if you use Talons. With HG Talons and the Caldari ECCM skill to IV I get ~71 sensor strength. The extra DPS from the HMLs will help a lot in missions where you are killing active tanking BSes, and if 71 sensor strength is enough I don't see the need to go with RLMLs. I haven't run any missions against Caldari so I don't know how much you get jammed, someone with experience will have to weigh in on that.

That's pretty much what I tried tango, it did fuck all dps because of the HML nerf and whenever I got jammed (had dissolution + midslot eccm rather than talons) the bs rats were back at full health. You grind them down so slowly that you cannot afford to be jammed in a tengu.

Maybe midslot ECCM plus talons? If DPS is the problem with HMLs then using RLMLs won't help, they still do less DPS to BS sized targets.

First wave of potential BC changes. The Harb didn't lose a midslot like I thought it would, it instead lost a high and a turret slot, but it gains a +10% damage per level instead of 5%, so it actually gains a little dps. The Drake isn't changed all that much, it gets an EHP and cap nerf, and the Cyclone's split weapon systems are switched from primarily turrets with some missiles to primarily missiles with some turrets. I wish CCP would just get rid of split weapon systems already.
