I land on the Eygfe gate in Aldrat, and there is an interceptor and a thrasher on gate. I jump through and am met with the exact same combo on the other side of the gate. I start burning hard away from the gate in a "come at me bro" fashion, and they follow. The first inty, the malediction, points me and starts trying to orbit me at range. By the time he realizes that it was a bad idea and tries to get out of my point range, his buddies are like 70-80k away from me. I start burning at him to make sure I get him, and I do. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=14026312 Now the 2nd inty has caught up with me. He's got a neut on him. Wtf? Also, unlike his predecessor, he decides to orbit me as close as he can. At that close, I can't hit him properly, so I keep changing my align to screw up his orbits, and start landing some decent hits on him. Since I can't keep both my mwd and my point on without totally screwing my cap, I decide to shut off my point temporarily, and in this period of time, he warps off. The two thrashers have about 20k distance between eachother, so I go after the closest one. I finally have to start using some of my cap boosters to withstand it's dps (I use 5 of my boosters here), but he pops quickly. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=14026310 At this point, I notice that the other thrasher, who is all alone at this point, can lock me up outside of my own lock range. Instantly, I know that since he's got a mwd, and likely a point, plus a sebo to be able to lock at that range, he must have next to no tank, so my 5 remaining cap boosters will easily allow me to tank him while I kill him. I'm basically out of ammo in my guns though, so I click "reload" while heading close enough to get a point on him. I get the point, but then realize that I can't use my shield booster. I made some mistakes, and I know exactly what I can do next time to not fuck up like I did. This is my first real nano-style fighting experience in eve where I wasn't in a rifter, and, holy shit was this fight a lot of fun. | ||

Again, fitting more nanos to your ship = lesser risks. Doesn't really matter what ship it is on. As long it have tons of nano modules on the ship then it will be much easier to control range and not die that fast. -NightmareX And the thread is still going strong, wtf | ||

A) So many people would start doing it that LP prices would go down as supply increases. As LP prices go down, it becomes less ridiculously profitable, until it reaches an equilibrium. B) Unless someone is extremely rich, they won't buy LP and will just farm the LP themselves. LP prices go down as demand increases, until the opportunity cost of farming LP becomes high enough that people start buying it again, and it reaches an equilibrium. Am I missing something here? Is FW something that most people don't know about? If it's well-known, super-profitable, and super-easy, it seems to go counter to common-sense economics that it will stay that way, but I'm 99.9% sure FW is nothing new, unless they changed something. | ||

Actually the west and grey incident supports the idea that Eve players are rational people, albeit the mass majority are uninformed. They saw the faction item they wanted on page one/didn't bother changing settings from default/ didn't bother checking the 2nd page, and bought the cheapest item. Seems like act of rationality to me. | ||

All eve players assume that they have nothing to learn and that they're doing it right in all contexts. The lack of a 1v1 matchmaking system and rankings means that they have no real feedback regarding how well they're doing. This is why discussing eve with anyone not in the hatchery is frustrating, they're so uninformed that they don't even have the ground knowledge to understand how clueless they are. The sandbox lets everyone do what they like without handing out gold stars or slaps, the strange kid sitting in the corner eating the sand doesn't know that you're meant to make castles with it. | ||
