I cannot beat this level
I couldn't find any help in the search option, and beyond a hippogryth "cheating" strategy I found by looking at google, I can't figure it out. I get about to 25 minutes before the orc base gets overrun. I've tried defending the orc base and I've tried defending the human base, I've tried all different combination of units. Has any of you beat this last level?
Thanks in advance.

What? I beat that on the first try and I never played W3 before, and knew jack about microing stuff...it was on normal difficulty tho, not hard.
You'd be better of asking on a WC3 site though

WC3 campaign was like...when I was in middle school or something. I remember this level being pretty fun but really not that hard. Are you spamming your heroes hard enough?
|
You wanna ass mass towers and shit and get the 3 expos up. I think its a 30? minute time limit iirc. So basically ou need to stall like 10 minutes at each base and its ridiculously easy to hold the NE one. The only heroes that give problems are Pitlord+Lich. Pitlord especially can kill alot before he keels over. Really just camp behind towers until you eventually win

It's pretty tough on hard I think (or thought when I played it anyway, was even worse at wc3 then :D), however after getting annoyed at dying a few times I decided to try to stall the last 2 minutes.. So I hid a building in the trees (ate a path into the trees), spammed moonwells, and started running around with my last 2 heroes..
It turns out they ignore the building until the heroes are dead! So I run around but eventually get surrounded by 50 units and desperation mode click on hide as it's night.
They have no detection.
I win!

Get your three gold mines up and running asap and mine infront of the orc base. Defend the human base for as long as possible while teching to bears and dryads. You want at least two ancients of lore so you can pump your units faster. When the human base is about to get run over, start massing moonwells and protectors infront of the orcs base and put your units infront of them. You also want one chimera to take out the siege quickly so tech to that as well.
Anyway from then on, its just keeping your unit count up and repairing/rebuilding moonwells/protectors. You also want to spam your heros ultis as much as you can; I think the cooldown as relatively short. Also upgrade weapons/armour.

You can't build chimeras for whatever reason. I'm about to try to the hippogryth cheating strategy and then I will try yours. It involves assassinating their acolytes so they don't build any additional units.

Wait, so the Warcraft campaign doesn't cheat by just having infinite money and triggering in units instead of building them?
What a concept O_o

yeah well.. I want to actually beat it the way blizzard intended it.
Oh and the hippogryth cheating strategy works. Its really homo. I tried to assassinate tichonderous but he whooped a 90/90 population plus two level 10 heroes ass.
Yes in case I didn't mention it this is on hard.

I didn't know using hippogryph's was considered cheating (after all, it's the final available unit for use in the campaign). I had one control group of hippogryph riders, mainly for dealing with the meat wagons so the protectors won't fall as fast. Keep upgrading (on three bases), you might want a couple of spellcasters as well. Keep laying goblin land mines before each wave. There will be a "final" wave where the human and orc bases will fall when they send in all the undead heroes and a crapload of units, so make sure you defeat all the previous waves, otherwise you haven't delayed them enough when you make your final stand.
If you upgraded to frozen throne and go back to this campaign, the archers won't be able to mount the hippogryph's for some reason, probably bug.

Chimeras probably TFT unit You cant kill that last dude btw, hes got that armour type that cant only be damaged by any weapon type but chaos, so all you have to do is to delay him.

theres a gold mine at the top left and another one at top right, get both up and running asap. move both ur heroes near your HU ally. rally wisps around HU base and keep spamming towers, any remaining gold should be spent on archers/huntresses. scatter your towers a bit so they dont get owned by AOE
if HU bases falls, rinse and repeat on Orc base. Orc base shouldnt fall or ur not spamming towers fast enough, easily have 20+ towers remaining by the time timer reaches 0
spam the two hero ulti's the mass healing one and the falling star thingy

They aren't cheating in itself, but if you use them to assassinate the acolytes so the units won't spawn, that is cheating.
I just tried that stuff and failed pretty bad. I just got run over like 20 minutes into it at the orc base.

hehehe I remember when I beat this level... I lost my entire army when the timer was almost over so I had to fight with my buildings (trees) to hold the enemies for a little longer.

make sure you don't crater on archimonde, stay out of death and decay... oh wait

even these simple instructions are too much for some, apparently

Prepare mass shit surrounding the human base
then kill human town hall while his shit is still mostly intact
I don't know if that bug still works.

If the Alliance die YOU are dead, very simple. Build Ancient Protectors to defend, build Ancient of War, Wind, and Lore in the Human base. Pump out Archer/Huntress/Dryad/Druid of the Talon and abuse Tranquility + Starfall as much as humanly possible.
If desperate for more time and Archimonde already raped the Alliance and the Horde base then cover the gate with your Ancients so Archimonde has to kill all of them to get through hehe
