Agreed, because with a difficult encounter (which granted is not stupidly hard) will allways be fun, kinda like dark/demons souls is fun
Demon Souls can only be considered fun when it's just you playing. Imagine Demon Souls where if any of the 8-25 people you play with mess up, you all have to go back and start again.
Not fun anymore.
The dirty little secret of MMO encounters is everyone wants the encounters to be "hard but not impossible". Unfortunately what that means is vastly different from person to person. One person's "hard but not impossible" is another person's easy mode, and vice versa. Everyone wants it tuned for them, but it's a game of millions of people.
So there's a lot of posts here! Warping to the back.
Just wanted to say I love the game and I am streaming it quite often as of recent. Leveling up as 'Trump' (Commando--Healer) (now level 37) on Ajunta Pall, Republic Server.
So my last graphics comparison was not the best. The switching back and forth made seeing a difference difficult and overall just didnt work well. Also the location I picked was not good for every setting.
So I have redone the video in new locations that make the difference in settings much more noticeable. A also have added a comparison of x4 and x16 AA (forced through catalyst) for those who cant live without AA.
I hope this helps more then my last video. Thank you for the feedback, both positive and negative. It helps me improve my videos and make better content overall so THX.

Haven't played any MMOs other than DCUO (3hrs), and the original Guild Wars (quite extensively), and reviews seem pretty mixed. And so, I come to TL for advice. As someone who is new to MMOs since Guild Wars' vanilla days, would you recommend this? Is it worth sinking hours into?
I would recommend it. It has the same "immersion" as GW did with the voice acting etc, only its based around your character more. Also its the first time ive had fun doing PvP in an MMO since guild wars, although it does have problems (already noted by others) if they are fixed it will be awesome tbh and it looks like they will be pretty soon.
EDIT: I just had the best idea Why didnt we have an stealth execute animation where you sneak up behind someone and place the lightsaber to their back, then turn it on. Would be epic :D

Probably because the shadow/assassin would have to pay too much attention to not impaling herself with the other half of her weapon. Kidding of course, it sounds like a cool idea.
I'm playing a marauder. currently 50 with 1 piece of the champion set left. For those rolling marauders, I strongly recomend leveling with a friend since you suck balls by yourself. It's doable solo but soooo boring.
Basicly at 50 you become a killing machine, either spec is fine but I run with rage spec, those smash crits are awesome. Biochem is a must, the buffs/stim/heals are really really good. Been playing since pre-launch and I'm simply loving this game.

Keep on destroying nubs
Sure thing bro, keep spreading false info about biochem. The more common it is, the sooner the nerfs.
Biochem is not mandatory for anything, it's a bonus. Biochem isn't going to carry you from the bottom to the top of the chart. Remember that with no diminishing returns, you're better off running cybertech bombs.
IMO, run biochem if you're a light wearer, run cyber tech if you're not.

It's not false information at all. The way the crafting professions currently are, you're gimping yourself if you're NOT Biochem. And honestly, they should be looking to bring the other professions into line with it, not nerfing Biochem.
I hate comparing them, but they really need to go the WoW route with this and give every crafting profession tangible, self-only benefits that are equal across the board. Would encourage people to roll the crafting skill they like rather than the crafting skill they think is strong and would make for a more balanced crafting economy.
If you are a min/maxer (and let's face it, many MMO players are) then yes, Biochem is mandatory. But don't expect that to last.

Oh, I'm sorry if I offended you. If that's you oppinion sure. I just fail to see how cyber tech is even remotly better then this.

Thanks for the comparison!
Since you seem to be pretty advanced with graphics, maybe you could help a fellow TLer.. I'm getting a max of 24 fps on LOW settings, no shadows, no vsync, running in compatibility mode Windows XP Service Pack 3(I have Windows 7), dropping to 13-14 fps when in crowded areas or buildings.
My specs are as follows: Intel i3 3.1 ghz processor ATI Radeon HD 5450 4GB Ram 1 TB Hard Drive
That's off the top of my head(at work atm), but I'm pretty sure those are accurate. I'm not too tech-savvy, so I couldn't figure out how to turn anti-aliasing on in Catalyst(then again I'm not sure if it would help or which setting to turn it to), and didn't want to overclock it since I don't know the consequences nor if it would help. I'm just pretty stunned that my computer gets higher FPS in SC2 than this game, and changing from high to low makes a very marginal difference(something like 5 fps). I'd like to make sure there's nothing else I can do before going out and buying a new graphics card/power supply. I'd just like to play without it being choppy and looking decent
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps <3
PS just made a guy on Dark Reaper with some friends, if any of you are on there.
just wondering if anyone here is having problems with the installation portion of the patching, been having problems with this for 1 and a half week now and was hoping this new patch fixed it, but it didn't. I check the forums everyday and they acknowledge the problem and post some fixes, but me and many others have tried them and nothing works, i really dont understand how a game can be this broken. But i can't really fully complain? Since the game seems to be working for the majority?
http://www.swtor.com/news/news-article/20120113-0 looks like first major content patch is on the way. Nice 2 see they are putting in effort 4 the endgame. But tbh i would rather see them fixing things first,,and then show up with the patch. Well lets c,definitely excited 4 it.

They have a whole team dedicated to fixes, them making new content will not decrease the rate at which fixes happen. There are a ton of fixes along with 1.1 not to mention they have announced fixes and tweaks happening with a patch each week.

Nice theory.
Fixes are horribly slow at least, and if this new raid content is going to be as bugged as the current content I'd rather just have them hold it back until it's actually finished.

Its not a theory fyi they have said it themselves lol.

Theory? I posted the interview gamespot had with James Ohlen , maybe you should go check that out ^^
So every time they release raid content your going to assume its not ready, and have them "hold it back"
Its on the test server go check it out for yourself, 1.1 will fix alot of the end game content bugs, they know it is an issue and are obviously working diligently to fix it. That being said i know the imperial hard mode flashpoints are alot more buggy then the republic ones and i dont know too many ppl who have had issues with it.
Obviously EV still has some bugs but im pretty sure most of those get addresed in 1.1 wait and see for yourself on the 17th and in the weeks to come things will be getting fixed every week and bugs should become a much smaller issue for end game.
As for the current 1.1 patch notes check them out here to see the fixes + i beleive more will be added by the time it is released. But already those should go a long way to fixing the issues with eternity vault and some of the hard mode flashpoints.

I didn't see "entire team working on bugfixes" anywhere in that article when I read it at least.
Not every time they release raid content no, just whenever their current content is barely working. Many of these bugs has been in the game since beta and haven't got fixed, and it's not small bugs like "sometimes uses an extra ability" or something like that, it's bugs that are so ridiculous that I don't think anyone who have seen them could defend the content.
Anyways, I'm fine with it having some bugs on release like all MMO's, but bugfixes should be their first priority right now and they should release fixes a lot faster than what we're currently seeing.
