We have been running a friend referral program for the project since the early days, here's how things are currently setup: - We regularly pick invitations at random from the general signup list on http://www.quakelive.com/ - We also release friend referral invitations on a regular basis. There is a per-user limit and a global limit, so when we open invitations they are available as first come first serve. Please note that we don't send invitations right away as you add them, it can take a few days as we send them in large batches. The main reason things are working this way, is that we need to control the growth against our current capacity, and we want to keep inviting from the 'general signup' to keep the range of player skill representative of our launch objectives (the friends invitations tend to bring in mostly high skilled players) We will update this post with the current invitations status. When friend referral invitations are available, you can use the link 'Invite a Friend!' in the upper right corner of your home page. Monday Sep 22: 500 friend referrals available Tuesday Sep 23: yesterday's friend referrals have all been used - none currently available Monday Sep 29: 1000 friend referrals available, everyone's invite count has been reset to 2 Tuesday Oct 2: no more friend referrals available for this week if anyone who wants can post their email or pm it to me ill just invite whoevers in order every day they create more invites. The videos of the tournament from QuakeCon are insane. Fastest game pace ever... Makes SC look slow. It's not Q4 graphics, it's just Q3 in a web browser basically. There have been no updates or enhancements to the graphics at all. It looks to me like a direct port of the q3 source code to something that can run in a browser. | ||

and yes there have been updates to the graphics, and there have been several changes as well. (several weapon rebalances and a couple new weapons) Railgun only does 80 not 100, rockets are faster, plasma gun slightly faster, lightning gun does less damage the further you are, new proximity mine launcher and new nail gun thats like a slow moving rail that does 100, just to name a few of what i heard). there are also several other changes besides weapons as well. Also I saw in CTF there is some new powerup? or something that makes you explode in a huge nuclear explosion when you die. | ||
