It'd be easier to give you advice if we had some concrete examples of stuff that's giving you trouble. E.g. I have no idea what level your opponents are, so I don't know what kinds of pressure they're applying.

It seems that I can never get off grabs / CaDB yet other players can grab me / karakusa me all the time. Am I doing something wrong? Also, how to deal with pressure? Q seems pretty slow, so when a dudley/ken/makoto/yun whathaveyou really gets into my space, I have a hard time countering their pressure since they seem to just go through everything I use and get through my blocking too. Like, it even seems hard to punish whiffed supers/specials since they always seem to instantly be able to block and then attack me back. (though that might just be because I'm reacting too slowly? or using the wrong moves) Also is there anyway to open like a training mode or smth in GGPO, since it's kinda annoying to practice combos by having to add in a 2nd player by hand :\ Thanks Just like Bill was saying, you gain frame advantages from parrying, so you NEED to use parry when using the lower tier characters. Also, master Q's kara throw

Recently I've started learning H-VAkiha (I'll post a video of my day-1 H-VAkiha in the Evo topic , along with an explanation of some of the game's mechanics). Her combos are surprisingly easy: you do have to get some timing down like in SSF4, but the timing is a lot easier than SSF4's links, imo. Basically, you just need to hit them with cr.C back.C dp+B, and if you're close to the corner you can do that 2 more times with ease ("momiji loop"). You can go into it from fullscreen too, but it's more complicated to exlpain. A downside of H-VAkiha for beginners, besides having very low health, is that imo you really need to know how to do Melty Blood's land-low vs airdash-high mixup to get the most out of her. An upside is that she's half-moon, so you get some newbie-friendly tools like auto-heat, auto-shield-counter, and a great "bunker" (basically an alpha counter).
