edit: also something i noticed that has been bothering me. iunno how the people he's facing have so much points with their level of gameplay. most of the people hes been facing have like 6k+ points yet its all flowchart-esque tactics. | ||

Seriously. Ranked matches are still dumb imo, but the new championship mode is really good. In other news, I made an AH2 combo video for Dorothy: Most useful parts imo are the ambiguous crossups that I demonstrate, not the actual combos.  I actually learned most of those crossups while making this vid.  | ||

That combo video seemed more like a set ups / mixups video like the tricks of the trade ones for marvel than actual combos. Interesting stuff though, I didnt know ah had unblockables O.O Anyway, heres the real meat of the post. I placed 3rd in the local (pretty much the state level) tournament last friday. Not amazing, but all of top 8 matches were recorded, so I get to show some tourney play! Any criticism is welcome. (Hey 3mc, remember when I asked for help with sagat vs blanka? THANK YOU! )This guy is pretty well known as a Rogue player in marvel last I heard, but he quit marvel for 4 (and his own blood pressure). Only 2 of my matches are up so far, I really want you guys help for what to do vs the ryu who zoned me out, but those videos havent been uploaded And as a treat, the finals reaction (me + gf are in it at the very end. I'm the white guy with black t shirt + black hair, she's... like the only girl in the video )You may want to lower your volume beforehand. | ||

Although you did go more into length about how the geif could have killed me than what I can do to counter that stuff hahaha. I know better than to use the ultra randomly like that. Bad instinct I guess. Same reason I do cr mp -> tu -> fadc ultra instead of just ultra off of focus crumbles. I went with whatever my muscle memory picked at that specific moment without questioning it x.x Edit: Now that I think about it, I had done an anti air ultra earlier in the tournament successfully, that's probably why I tried it. Don't know if that one was caught on tape though, hopefully it was so I don't seem completely retarded. I mean, I admitted to playing online a lot and threw out a random ultra in both videos, so it looks bad I know xD Lots of good info though, much appreciated. Gonna test out the blanka punish later. I'll probably copy paste all this info to the geif, seems like he didnt know any of it :O There is a reason I do f.hk so much though! When an opponent is crouching (or most standing characters) it whiffs, most people try to punish with a poke or something. So I do whiff f.hk -> TU as a little trap and it works wonders. After I did it to that geif once, he just kept blocking after f.hks, and thats why I could throw them out so much without too much worry. Seriously though, great info. Thanks! | ||

 Btw anti-air ultra works, but you have to start your ultra early because ultras have so much start-up. It's very hard to do it fast enough on reaction unless you buffer a QCF beforehand. E.g. if I anticipate a jump-in and want to anti-air ultra, I'll randomly do QCF or QCFx2 motions while my opponent is standing on the ground, so that if they jump I can react to it and pull out my ultra fast enough. On the other hand, since you're Sagat, you'd have to make sure you don't do the ultra too early or else you'll fly under them. Besides, it's easier and safer to just anti-air them with an uppercut or f.hk and combo into the ultra, if possible. There's almost no reason for Sagat to use a raw ultra as anti-air, imo. | ||
