So, thanks to Arcana Heart and a year of learning how to pronounce AH players' names, I have finally reached the point where I can read all Japanese katakana.

What is this useful for? ... umm ... I can read menus in Japanese games!

so im starting to try and use viper as an alt. goddam shes hard as hell. i feel like in some places ive seen her ultra hit but when i do the same combo doesnt work

shes very rewarding if u know wht to do thou. ex seismo juggles are sexy and her fake mixups are fucking crazy if u know what your doing
i can just now see how viper is top tier

too bad she instantly loses if you ever mess up or you thought for one instant that they wouldn't mash (and they did)

I lost literally nonstop for like the first 2 days i started using viper lol. Just a lot to learn initially. I'm still smoothing out my use of flame kicks but now it seems like im winning like the huge majority of my games vs people. Being able to punish with c.hp xx EX seismo into SJC stuff consistently really helps i think

The only difficulty for me right now is really super turtle players. Particularly Rog and Honda players.

Viper's sucks. It's ridiculous how I gimped a few matches from 3MC (nice set overall btw) just from PPP lariat. I'd never even played a Viper before except one match. The other characters I'd actually never seen played before, I got ape-smashed. Against more reasonable characters that I also knew better, we could have a real match whereupon I would have the opportunity to get beaten fair and square. -_-;;

I think Viper is fine against turtles, she has too many ways to break someone's defense. She suffers a lot against rushdown characters imo, her own defensive tools are kinda bad. She also loses really badly to Gief, but that's just 'cuz Gief is a retarded character.
But I mean, she does well against pretty much the rest of the cast, just she has to be careful to not get random'd out a bit more than most characters (other than I guess Akuma, but he is easier to not mess up with).

I can see why Japan would consider her top tier, but I can also see why that ranking will probably change once they realize just how badly she gets random'd and how much more solid the other top tiers are.
