You guys need to keep in mind that SF4 won Arcadia '2008 Game of the Year' by huge margin of reader votes (T6 was second, and AH2 was third). Coin op ranking doesn't necessarily break things down by player demography. If popularity vote was taken on a generic U.S. game site, probably SC or DOA would win the 'most popular fighting game' title. The result would be much different if votes were taken on SRK where higher ratio of the voters will be hardcore players. Good news for everyone, I think. ^_^ | ||

And it's no secret how much game aesthetics influence the number of plays different games get among the casual crowd ('sup Melty over SF4?). Arcades common => casual players playing a lot of games => Arcadia top 10 reflects the average player. | ||
