I myself have only played scout once (game ended in like 17 minutes so its not that good of a game). I prefer maliken, hes really strong in lane and is a great team fighter. His nuke is a sword throw that deals damage (as well as synergy with your 2nd ability) and maims a target for like 4 or 5 seconds. He can also blink to his sword at any time, which synergys with his ult really well. His second ability allows you to buff your sword, to either do more damage or less damage. If you deal more damage, you deal some damage to yourself to do said damage. The less damage heals you when you attack as well. They also give extra damage/more healing on your sword throw ability (the damage part give your sword throw + 70 damage for 40 of your health). His third ability is an hp trigger passive. The lower your hp, the faster you attack. His ult is awesome. you become a demon, and everyone within 400 range of you when you cast your ult becomes feared (confused/silenced/disarmed, i dont think it works on magic immune people though). He is a ranged demon with faster base attack speed, 600 range, and aoe splash in a small radius. also for the first 2 seconds you get an armor buff of 20/40/60, then it gradually goes to zero over the rest of the ult's duration. He is really strong, i enjoy him in any lane and find him very flexible ganking/carrying. He obviously can be played multiple ways due to having alot of synergy to rape people. I normally go vang -> phase on him to give him hp for his damage sword + phase to just go gank people. After that its up to you, my normal carryish build is s&y heart crit (since his passive changed, it used to be a crit instead of attack speed). You can also be part of the team that may need to go other items, like i went diffusal one game vs an omniknight, and still had plenty of firepower/hp to live in team fights. Overall hes a great hero. | ||

Level 25 at 45 minutes-ish is around the target for that xp rate, if i'm recalling correctly. Also: Maelstrom and basher don't work on illusions now. | ||

EDITx2: LOL so apparently images also get Riftshards crits, so they can also double crit (and of course crit more often) on Scout. i still think Geometer's Bane is worth it, the stats are great and images that mana burn or crit+disable from your passives is pretty amazing. plus linkens still works on images so thats really good You wanna carry the team every game? get magebane or scout depending on the heroes involved if magebane get: perseverance, phase boots, yasha--> manta, basher ('brutalizer') OR finish linken's if you really need it, then get linkens (null stone) / basher, Whispering Helm (helm of the dominator), MKB or satanic yes, your Geometer's Bane (manta) images will not only mana burn but also bash on separate cooldowns. They also get the 100dmg MKB procs as well, and they also each block spells with linkens. basically you blink, geometers, their hero is pretty much permastunned and very quickly mana burned to death. for Scout you do the basically the same thing (make sure you put up 2 electric eyes at the start of the game), except i often get a fast battlefury because it's insane for farming. After you get a battlefury you cant really be stopped from farming..and once you get Geometer's Bane your images will crit as well as disable, and obviously the Basher, Linkens, MKB also all effect images. you'll also want a BKB if they have disables that own you, and get Riftshards (crystalis that upgrades like a dagon), because the crits stack with your passive crit and you can double crit for 1400 easily geometer's bane + brutalizer was JohnFarmer's secret, just finished a 23-0 game with magebane with that build I'd imagine this works nicely on other good agi melee carries (especially ones that have passives) like Madman but i havent tried it yet | ||

I could use whatever tips you can give me and I can play a serviceable support hero. | ||

The art looks good to me. Its wc3 style art, but a little crisper. Hero models are unique and easy to distinguish. Spells become more obvious, once you learn what they are. LoL a lot more gank oriented than dota/hon. Juking is more fun with grass all over the place in the jungles which can lead to some pretty epic chases. The rune and mastery system is interesting, but doesn't feel complete. Lower level cap, and lower hp towers make for shorter games. 30-40 min range seems average. I also look forward to trying out different maps as they are released. My biggest complaints about LoL is that it initially feels awkward to RTS/Dota players who are used to being able to select units/heroes. With LoL, your hero is always selected, but there is no circle or distinguishing graphic to help identify it as selected. Hard to explain, other than it just feels weird controlling your hero for a while. I tried HoN, and I just don't see what the fuss is about. To me, it just feels like a more awkward version of dota, with uglier (albeit crisper) graphics, and with better netcode/matchmaking/ladder. I don't think there is room for both HoN and DoTA in the competitive scene, and dota will win out once people have to start paying $30+ to play HoN. | ||
