Consider how many games of DOTA you've played
I've played 100+ HoN games and now I have pretty much no difficulty identifying spells, unless they come from some hero new to HoN (like the first couple times I played vs Maliken I didn't know what was going on )

Except here's the problem for a game that pretty much copied DotA you would think smart developers would improve on some or all of the problems with DotA and avoid the graphics clusterfuck that was War3 in high spell detail, but they didn't.

I'm in the Beta but just looking at the website as of now to see what heroes are what. Really odd feeling about this game so far but looks easily adjustable from DOTA.

Most of war 3's engine is very clean and simple graphics, HoN to me however is more work on my eyes to figure out certain things. Some stuff is just hard to see, or too artsy. Like i can understand wanting to push the engines limit, but there needs to be a limit to it so you can still see whats going on in an instant without having to stop the screen to figure it out.

that will become less of an issue as you become more accustomed to all the graphics though alven

and im sure the guys at S2 are aware of how important it is for graphics to not impede gameplay
